Racism, political and moral questions
Racism, political and moral questions. Discrimination which feeds racial discontent. This is a difficult subject to write about, to find the correct words, since so many people appear to be willing to misinterpret what ever is written, into meanings that the writer did not intend.

Do not rush evolution
Do not rush evolution. Will we hurry to oblivion? Planet earth has, so the astrophysicists tell us, about a billion years of life left in her, a thousand million years before the sun cooks everything. It may be that we humans will kill ourselves off long before that time but if we do not, we will have time to evolve solutions, we will have time to adjust the populations to sustainable levels, we will have time to develop technologies that will enhance human existence. Why all the rush to an unknown future. Evolution works because it tests each and every stage of change, over time.

Secrecy of labor unions and capitalist bankers
Secrecy of Labor unions and capitalist bankers The two main controllers of all economic activity are too secretive. Both labor and capital are too important to be left just to their own structures. They are both, naturally, focused on self interest but they have such strong influences over everyone else that these self interests need some form of accountability to the rest of the population. If we are to have democratic government, then surly we need open democracy within the two main levers of economy. We are all so interdependent in the the modern time, that the economy affects and to a degree, controls us all. Having elected government without any form of democratic control over these twin pillars of economic activity, is detrimental to democracy itself.

The balance between Capital and labor in the 21st century
The balance between capital and labor in the 21st century Politics can use the pandemic to gain economic change. The Prime Minister of Britain, said that if you can not work from home and if your place of employment has corona-virus safety protocols in place, you can go back to work.

The future- will political ideals matter?
The future- Will political ideals matter? This current – April 2020- pandemic is throwing up interesting questions about the future. It also shows how interconnected we all are on this overcrowded planet. Not just interconnected one nation to another, which enabled the virus to spread world wide in such a short time but also how our individual lives have become so dependent on so many other people. Interconnection is different from interdependent. It is not good for any group, or nation, to depend entirely on another, for its basics of food, shelter or defense. Dependency can become slavery so very easily. The mantras of the 1970's about small is beautiful and how to strive for self sufficiency, have been buried under the commercial needs of gigantic global companies. We have personal access to mass world wide communication but the question has to be; has this empowered us or made us reliant on advertising funded platforms? The greater part of the funding for social media comes from global commercial enterprises.

Corona virus and the politics of international pandemics
Corona virus and the politics of international pandemics. Due to the international nature of this (year 2020) Corona virus contagion, politics have to be involved. Politicians like to divert attention away from their own shortcomings by blaming others for just about anything. It is also a common practice to reveal “bad” domestic news while attention is focused on international worse news. Once this present problem gets under some semblance of control this political blame game will start in earnest. What is known now? Not a lot.

Lessons from Corona virus
Lessons from world wide Corona virus. The politics of world wide epidemics. During early parts of the year 2020, in democracies all over the planet, rules and laws restricting individuals freedom and rights, are being put in place to slow the spread of infection. The overall plan is to slow the numbers being infected to a level that the health systems can cope with. It is widely accepted that there will be no instant cure, and so containment to enable the hospitals to cope, is the strategy being employed. Ultimately a vaccine will be found, but the virus my mutate and render this ineffective. Politicians are having to accept that the usual political rules do not apply in periods of national and international emergency. Only the extremists and the fanatical activists will try to use the fear and the levels of unusual restrictions to criticise their government. Criticism is cheap and easy while preventative action is so very difficult. When the infection rates are reduced to levels that allow some normality to return; then political rivalries will reassert themselves. All over the globe, democracy or otherwise, the immediate requirement will be for economic recovery. How big a problem this turns out to be will be influenced by how many people have died and how much has been spent trying to cope with emergency medical and economic effects, during the epidemic. Thoughts will eventually turn to problems of the future. It is probable that every nation will see a recognition that its health care system needs an upgrade and needs both plans and resources in place should there be a future global infection of some sort. This will change the economics of the world, it will also change the perceptions of what are basic civil rights in democratic nations.

After the virus
After the virus Will the reckoning be helpful? When the emergency that is Corona-virus, passes and things everywhere return to “normal” what will that normal be? How will political governance change? Will there be a world wide shift in political ideology, away from materialism and towards humanism? (Humanism is defined as a belief in the advancement of humanity by its own efforts.) Will religions be weakened? How will politicians use the aftermath?

Building a better Britain
Building a better Britain Change things for the better Before any structure, that is meant to last, can be built; it needs stable, firm ground to build it on. It needs to be sure the foundations are not going to move. So the first step towards a better Britain is to ensure stability. Stability of population and stability of economics are the firm ground that can be built on. Consistency of purpose and clearly defined objectives, with contingency plans; need to be understood and agreed by the great majority of the population. Governance needs to be truly democratic and not controlled by mixture of elite bureaucrats, the mega wealthy controllers of finance and a select few politicians. The setting up of the stabilizing factors has to be agreed by national referendum and enshrined in law so that only a clear majority in a other referendum, can change the settings. Democracy is governance by the majority.
