The Risk Of Rootie
The Risk Of Rootie: The Grit Robot John W. Gilmore She walked into the garage shop to see if her tractor was ready. Jeff was underneath another vehicle...a very old car doing some type of work. He loved working on antique vehicles. She saw her big green tractor parked in the corner alone, all by itself. It was almost an antique, but it was all she had. She needed a new one. She needed a lot. Who would think that someone her age would be starting up a landscaping business by herself. At least she had a young son who could help her during the summers and a working partner.

Don't Give Me No Bull
Don’t Give Me No Bull John W. Gilmore Just another day in Costa Rica, during the dry season. In Santa Anna de Piedades there was always a soft, gentle breeze. Fran and I sat in the Unity Church of Costa Rica located at the top of a hill on its own little campus at a workshop on some type of meditation or the other. It was too long ago for me to remember. I do remember how much Sarah and Benjamin enjoyed it--just as much we enjoyed them.

Off The Beaten Path
Off Of The Beaten Path John W. Gilmore Since the invention of the internet and better technology small towns with a lot of activities are the places that offer the best of both worlds...the excitement of the city and the warmth of a small community. Many of the small towns in Montgomery county and other areas, like some of the sections of Philadelphia, are beginning to blossom and offer the type of community people want. The town of Ambler in Montgomery County, PA offers the tranquility of a small town with a lot of activity. Unfortunately, due to the Covid Epidemic a lot of activity has really slowed. Let us hope that it will return to its former state as things get better.

Philadelphia Getaways Far From Center City
Philadelphia Getaways Far From Center City John W. Gilmore To skip out of the Philadelphia tourist scene and hang out with the locals visit Chestnut Hill. Chestnut Hill is right above Mt. Airy, one of the most racially diverse areas in the city, as well as very close to Germantown. Both parts of the city have a very rich history. You can take an easy ride on the Chestnut Hill West or the Chestnut Hill East line from Center City Philadelphia, or you can take a bus that leads you right into the center of the Chestnut Hill Business District.

It Just Didn't Happen
It Just Didn't Happen John W. Gilmore “He tried it again, did he?” “Yes. He did, Bruce. Luckily the fall wasn't so far this time and the packed snow broke his fall. I can't understand him at all. He thought he could jump off a building like in the Carlos Castaneda story and go into another dimension.”

Traveling Spokane
Two Days Liming Spokane Dr. John W. Gilmore Using a Lime Scooter for transportation is enjoyable and convenient in Spokane, WA. The small, electric scooter moves slowly, allowing me to look at the shops, stores and buildings that I would pass too quickly in a car, while allowing me to travel a longer distance than on foot.
