Where your thoughts are
I stare at her sometimes while we are watching tv. When she catches me we both get a kick out of it. She’d kiss me and nudge my face back towards the television and we let the moment pass. Her eyes would slightly squint at the tv, not because she can’t see, but they’re reacting to what she’s watching. Her left eyebrow raises with intrigue and it’s like the people in the shows are talking directly to her. Her lips even rest apart as if she’s ready to talk back. I wonder what thoughts are living so openly on her expression and what words were caught between those beautiful lips. I wonder if those queues on her face would still exist if she noticed how often I’m watching her instead of the screen. Maybe they are there just for me to notice but it’s much more likely it wouldn’t even matter if I was here at all. She’d be there just as beautiful and just as captivating and just as captivated. It doesn’t matter that I’m here.

Satoshi's Gift
“So tell me how this whole thing works again?” My roommate paced around our room like a mother with a pre-teen that missed curfew for the first time. Every few minutes he would lean in over my desk with three fingers over his bottom lip, possibly holding it in place to prevent it from trembling right off his face from anticipation. I’d spent all my money on a currency that he’s never heard of and a device to make more of it. All of my money including my half of the rent that was due in three days was riding on this.

The broken playlist
Have you ever ended a relationship and were confused with how you felt about it? The most comparable feeling I could think of is taking off a weighted vest. There is a very obvious feeling that something that used to be there is not there anymore. Over time there will be waves of pain that set in that you need to power through, but the weight that was there put a strain on you as well. Not having it on is a relief, but as soon as that pain goes away, you're ready to put the vest on again. (Maybe a new heavier vest that doesn't mind when you work so many hours or cheats on you when you're out with clients)
