Changeling Child - Part 10
Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Mary picked out a simple melody, enough to keep her hands occupied and her sisters at a distance, as Diarmait paced. “I have suspected for some time that Wickham has been causing mischief with a greater plan in mind. What his final goal in this created conflict may be I cannot be sure, but he has been targeting the Border Estates."

Black Friday Outside the USA
Black Friday Means Something Very Different Outside of the USA… About now, we're all getting spammed with email notifications and social media ads about Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. The USA is celebrating (or mourning) the Thanksgiving holiday, and expects the rest of the world to join in on the joys of unbridled capitalism.

Changeling Child - Part 9
Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 By some miracle of the Fates, Kitty and Lydia were so preoccupied with detailing their meeting with Mr Wickham that they completely forgot to mention Aunt Phillips’ actual guest except in passing. Mama’s eyes gleamed at the prospect of future gossip and a potentially-single gentleman, but she was happy to put that aside for the moment. There were Officers to talk of, after all.

The Book-Keeper
There exists, deep in the secrecy of library shelves, an Organisation. The Librarians, Book-keepers, Readers And wRiters, Insistent Advocacy by Numbers (LIBRARIAN) organisation, to be exact. Those fortunate enough to be unfamiliar with the organisation - which was to say, most of the people inhabiting a random bar in a small town - were understandably puzzled by the instinctive cowering of everyone who was familiar with them, when the door opened and a woman dressed in black entered.

When It's Time To Leave
Change, especially big changes, can be scary. Change means the unknown or unfamiliar. It means stepping away from the comforting and secure, taking a risk that may or may not pay off. Viewed in that light, it's unsurprising that people would stay in bad relationships, toxic work environments and unideal situations until they can no longer ignore the negative effects.

Character Coding in Fiction. Top Story - November 2021.
Something I’ve seen recently in online discussions is arguments about “Coded” characters. In most of those arguments, there’s been a lot of confusion around what kind of framing is or isn’t coding a character, and sometimes confusion over what coding even is. So, when I was stuck on my current NaNoWriMo project, I figured that I might as well distract myself by clearing a few things up.

Changeling Child - Part 8
For those who first found the story on archiveofourown and wondering what happened to it: Someone reported the story as breaking the rules around promotion, resulting in the story being taken down and me getting banned for a month. So, nothing from me on that front until next year.

Keep Moving Forward
Vocal has come a long way since it's creation, and even since I joined up back in July. In just those four months, We've been given a word-count in drafts (SO much easier than copy-pasting everything into a word document to keep track!), subscriptions, and hearts upgraded to a form of a "Favorites List". New Categories are being added regularly, and Vocal is listening to feedback from its creators.

Changeling Child - Part 5
Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 The year Mary Bennet turned nineteen, Netherfield Park was let at last. Mary rarely paid attention to gossip until it became fact, in an often-vain attempt to sound sensible and avoid Lydia’s gloating when Mary was proven wrong. Nevertheless, she would have had to be deaf and blind not to know of the new arrivals, who were to take possession some time before Michaelmas. That explained the shopkeepers discussing whether or not to increase their wares from London, when Mary went to see if any new music was to be found.
