The Sleeping Beauty
We're all familiar with this tale, are we not? Anyone who has seen the Disney version should be. Have you ever wondered for a moment if, perhaps, Disney got it wrong? Of course, for anyone who knows the "true" story of many a Grimm's Fairytale, that answer is a resounding yes... but suppose that the Brothers Grimm also got it wrong? Consider this, if you will, an account of "what if...?".

It's Impossible to Write With a DogTop Story - November 2022
It's impossible to write with a dog hovering over your shoulder. Perhaps if you have a small lap dog, like a Yorkie or a Dachshund, you may tend to disagree, but a great big fur-baby like a German Shepherd? Impossible, I say.

The Samhain Chronicles, Ch. 18
Danny slept very fitfully. His dreams were a mired, swirling fog, blending and melding chaotically one into the other. He saw the bonfire again, and figures - hooded and cloaked - chanting all around. There was a great stone table, too, in the midst of a circle of even greater stones, and a full harvest moon shining above. Hideous creatures swiped and clawed at him from the darkness, threatening to snuff out his light. He felt as if he were in a cold, dark sea, barely keeping his head above the surface before another crashing billow of darkness tried to push him under. Suddenly there was an incredibly bright light all around him, voices calling out in fear and agony, while the shadows fled from the flames spreading to the trees. Danny thought he heard a voice, gentle but more powerful than all the universe, ringing through the burning pines.

Goblin Bites: Scary Stories 18
Julie considered herself a fairly level-headed and smart person. She was only fifteen, but had been told all her life that she was always very mature for her age. It was this sense of advanced maturity that started her part-time career as the go-to neighborhood babysitter. She had quite a good rapport developed with all the families who lived on her street, and it wasn't long before her reputation as a responsible young adult began spreading to the surrounding streets. She became so busy that her parents put in a separate, private line just to screen her babysitting gig calls. In half a year, she had already made herself a decent little nest egg to grow her college fund upon, which she was very proud of.

Goblin Bites: Scary Stories 17
Tom was exhausted. He'd been delivering packages all day, and was eager to go home for the night. Lucky for him, he had just one package left to deliver. It was so small, he'd almost missed it to be honest. Still, the address wasn't too far off the beaten path, and he had been there a handful of times before, so it should have been easy enough to drop it off and pack it in for the evening.

Goblin Bites: Scary Stories 16
Robert thought he'd hit the jackpot of awesome, cushy jobs. For the past year, he'd made a decent living as a professional house sitter. The work was stupid easy in most cases: just make the house look lived in while the owner was away. Occasionally there was a pet that needed looking after too, or a handful of house plants to keep watered, but overall it was more or less the same every time. All Robert had to do was sit around and watch TV for a few days... and he got paid for it. Most of the homeowners were extra cool and allowed him to help himself to their pantries, as a part of his pay. The long and the short of it was Robert absolutely loved his job and thought he was the luckiest guy in the entire world... that is, until his last job.

Goblin Bites: Scary Stories 15
There was one story I heard a long time ago, that I honestly don't know really happened or not. It is a very sad story, to begin with, but I will try to do it justice and recount it to the best of my memory. You have been warned, and I will not judge you should you decide to stop reading here. For those more curious souls, I will continue.

Goblin Bites: Scary Stories 14
When Judy left home for college, she was eager to finally begin her young life of independence. She'd gotten into the school of her dreams on a scholarship, which her parents were very proud of even if it was a good three states over from her home. Although Judy didn't know anyone at her new school or the new town she would be moving to, she was a fairly outgoing young woman, and confident that she would make many new frends very soon.

Goblin Bites: Scary Stories 13
Jim and Lois had been driving all day. They were traveling cross-country from their home in Pittsburgh to visit Lois's ailing Great-Aunt Ida in Santa Fe. Sure, they could've flown (it certainly would have been quicker) but Jim had a crippling fear of flying. Both of them figured a little road trip would be fun; it gave them a chance to unwind upon the open road, and get reacquainted with each other. Although they had been married for almost five years now, neither of them recently seemed to have the time to just sit down and talk anymore with their individual busy schedules.
