Halo Infinite Tech Preview
The first test flight of Halo Infinite came and went, we have had our chance to slay bots and let that gameplay marinate. There are plenty of severely disappointed people and others who were like a kid in a candy store. Some valid criticism was thrown out, but also plenty of cry babies who will never be satisfied. I fit in more with the “kid in a candy store” group. I'm pretty sure I jumped out of my chair when I got that email inviting me to be a part of this first tech review, scaring my cats in the process due to my shout of excitement. Despite my excitement, there are a few things I hope will be improved up and others that I think were nailed right on the head.

Counter-Strike is dying, and We Should Let it
It has been two decades since the first Counter-Strike was released to our desktops and with it came two decades of high octane fast-paced competitive gaming. With four installments over the last 20 odd years, it quickly grew a cult-like following and with becoming one of the most popular E-sports games. With good reason too, the adrenaline rush and satisfaction you get from flicking heads and clutching a 1v5 round is nonpareil. So much so that some folks can spend hours watching other people play. Witnessing the skill of players like shroud or s1mple can give you that same heart-racing experience as playing yourself.

Around the World in the Kitchen
I, like many others, have never had the money to travel. But I love cooking and I love food, it was a cornerstone for family time while I was growing up. I remember late nights of sitting around in the kitchen talking with my siblings and my parents and just have a fantastic time as we all pitched in on whatever meal it was that my dad was coming up with. Because of this I now have a certain level of catharsis while prepping my ingredients for the night, it reminds me of a much simpler time of being a kid.

THE MEDIUM
Being one of the first games to launch this for the new generation I had a lot of excitement for the medium. It looked dark and edgy and raw, all the things I enjoy in a horror-action thriller game, though admittedly I am not a huge follower of horror games. I was looking forward to seeing what the power of the next generation was going to bring in terms of graphical fidelity, unfortunately, I was unable to secure an Xbox series X for this so I missed out on that experience. However thanks to XGP (Xbox game pass) I WAS able to play this on my PC, though missing out on the feeling of “next-gen” I still thoroughly enjoyed my experience..after getting over a few odd gameplay mechanics and the somewhat outdated feeling graphics that is. Odd quirks aside, I thoroughly enjoyed my roughly 12-hour playthrough of ‘The Medium’. By the end, I was in awe of the world built by the crew over at Bloober Team.

COVID-19: A DEADLY WAKE UP TO CLASS CONCIOUSNESS
For generations we have been exploited by the upper class, this is no secret. Our government seems to only work for the top 10% or less of the nation’s wealthiest citizens while putting all of the downfalls on the working class, blaming us for the failure of our economy. A favorite scapegoat for this is the millennial, whether it is them not buying enough houses or eating too much avocado toast the millennial seems to be the media's go-to for any kind of negative dips in the economy. In reality, as many of us knew and more are becoming aware of, it is that top percent of earners and our politicians that are quickening the downturn of our nation. Between tax breaks, offshore accounts, and criminally low wages we on the bottom are left to fight over scraps left behind by these ghouls. Our labor is exploited to the highest degree to make more money for someone who doesn’t know the definition of a struggle and doesn’t know what it’s like to live in a system actively working against you. They would rather we die out of sight and silently than to actually lift people up and help them to achieve a stable living condition. This was, of course, highlighted by the blight of the covid-19 pandemic and the problem is getting harder to ignore.
