A Shrine On the Mountain
Mabel Marsh was deep within a dream in which she was moving very quickly. The ground was far below, and it was whooshing along as though it were being carried by a swift river. All those miles below (for miles they seemed to Mabel), yellow pastures gave way to green marshland in which thin grey streamlets twisted and wove, and upon which little white goats bobbed their horny heads as they drank from the bog.
