The Missouri Cattle Fraud Murders
For many, July of 2019 feels like a lifetime ago. This was before COVID, before quarantine and lockdowns, before toilet paper shortages and masks. It is frighteningly easy to relate to people who have lost loved ones to the pandemic, as well as the ever-present feeling of everything changing, never to be the same. The year 2019 was painful for the entire world, but for Lisa Diemel and the rest of the Diemel family, the nightmare may never be over.

Folk Hero
It wasn’t that the journey made William uncomfortable on trains – it wasn’t the packed carriages or the rickety bump-de-bump of the locomotive across the tracks. It was a myriad of factors, the driving force behind which this day was the pale complexion of his wife. Anna hadn’t looked well since the birth of little Joseph, had seemed drawn and tired, prone to mysterious outbursts of sudden rage and then hours-long onsets of crying.

We Don't Get Out Much
When I tell people I have a hound dog for a house dog, they don't usually know what to expect. My dog is a German Shepherd mixed with a Treeing Walker Coonhound, and it should be noted that both of those breeds usually produce dogs of about 60lbs to 80lbs, give or take. I have the best of both worlds: Kobe, and his tall, lanky hound dog frame, packed with German Shepherd muscles, and black and tan coloring, coming in at about 110 pounds and begging for more food every chance he gets. Have a burger? Keep an eye on it, Kobe will snatch that right out of your hand if you aren't careful. I've lost many sandwiches, a couple of burgers, and even a piece of cake to him just by not paying attention.
