It's Time to Tell Trump and His Supporters They're Full of Shit
Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden caused a bit of an uproar when he told an auto worker he was "full of shit" during a campaign stop in Detroit on March 10th. While many on the right (and some on the left) thought he should have restrained himself, I -- not being the biggest Biden fan in the country -- felt immense relief that someone was finally saying what needed to be said.

On Calling Myself an Addict for the First Time
I was an addict for about a decade before I realized it. It's not like I didn't know I drank too much all those years. Even if I hadn't, from time to time, read up on how much alcohol was "too much," I think I would have had some idea that consuming around 8-12 ounces of hard liquor nearly every day for several years was going overboard.

The Daily Struggle of High-Functioning Alcoholism
As I write this, I’ve been sober for 685 days. And I have thought about drinking for each one of those 685 days. Unlike a lot of people who have problems with alcohol, I didn’t start drinking as a teenager. In fact, I don’t think I had my first drink until after I was 21. I became friends with a college-age guy at my workplace who drank more than anyone I had personally known (and I had several alcoholics in my family) but who still managed to go to class and work every day and generally keep his life together. He’s now a lawyer and seems to be doing well.

The Problem With Saying Coronavirus 'Just' Kills Old People
You see it on Facebook, in the comments both on posts stressing the need for COVID-19 preparedness and also on posts making fun of the panic-buying it’s encouraged. You see it on Reddit, in threads discussing a world leader’s reaction (good or bad) to the disease. You see it especially on Twitter, where it seems like the forced brevity of responses lends itself to the rapid firing of whatever enters your mind right then and there.

What Happens When Your President is the Most Dangerous Idiot in the World
I don't think any thinking person would have predicted Donald Trump's response to the coronavirus crisis would be appropriate. For those of us who've never exactly had high expectations of our Idiot-in-Chief, we were, sadly, not surprised.
