Coffee Talk – PS4 Review
When the press release for Coffee Talk landed in my inbox I was instantly intrigued and excited. The premise is exactly why I love indie games. No mainstream game could even attempt the design, goals and concept that Coffee Talk does. Unfortunately whilst it has a wonderful premise it falls short on nearly every aspect of its delivery.

Heroland – PS4 Review
Here at Stoffel Presents we absolutely adore indie games. The weird, the artistic, the beautiful, The thought provoking. Quite often in indie games you find game mechanics or designs that would never see the light of day in a mainstream release and it is this diverse and vast range of amazing, unique and quite frankly brilliant games that we love… and then something like Heroland comes along.

Speed Limit – PS4 Review
Speed Limit (the brand new game from Croatian developer Game Chuck is due to hit Consoles and PC on 16th Feb 2021 and if you like high octane, retro fuelled, genre swapping arcade-style gameplay then Speed Limit is the game for you. Speed Limit is a work of art that makes you question the sanity of the developers. I have no idea what hellish fever dream Speed Limit was borne from but by Nimah, I am glad it is now a thing that exists!

Headbangers in Holiday Hell – PC Review
If being on Santa’s naughty list is this much fun, I’m never going back on the nice list. Headbangers In Holiday Hell is a 2.5D (ish) twin-stick shooter from Hammers & Ravens, the publisher of the excellent indie game Empires in Ruins. (which I’d highly recommend if you’re into tower defence games). The developers behind the game say that they were influenced by heavy metal music and shows like Beavis and Butthead

Jump King
Jump, jump up as high as you can, but not too high because if you do, you’ll fall all the way back down to the bottom in this very rage-inducing game! I wanted to break my Xbox by the end of the first half-hour! All thanks to Jump King. I don’t even rage at Call of Duty this much, and I rage hard at that! The air was very blue around me, if I had a swear jar, I’d be bankrupt and owe millions in debt.

REVIEW / A Short Hike (Switch)
When I booted up Adam Robinson-Yu’s A Short Hike for the first time, I was hoping for a relaxing game that I could become pleasantly addicted to for a few hours. Wow did this game deliver. The story is simple. While visiting a relative on a small island, Claire is waiting for an important phone call and learns that the best place for cell phone reception is at the top of a mountain. Her journey to the top includes a number of memorable interactions with the other inhabitants of the island, leading to a number of pleasant distractions.

REVIEW / BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE (PC)
Rhythm games are a niche genre that seems to be clawing for survival here in the West. After the meteoric rise, slow fall, and failed attempt at the resurrection of the band simulating Guitar Hero and Rock Band, rhythm games have not been able to come anywhere close to reclaiming that level of popularity. To do so, they have attempted to innovate on the genre in various ways. Whether it be dancing, racing, top-down RPGs, VR, and, now, rogue-like FPS through BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE.

REVIEW / Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time (X1)
Samurai Jack is a cartoon unlike any other. With four seasons rated TV-Y7 from the early 2000s and a fifth rated TV-14 from 2017, the show takes a visually beautiful approach to telling the story of a samurai sent to the distant future when the known galaxy has been conquered by the god of evil Aku. Told through visually beautiful and creative episodes, subtle writing that explores themes of morality, justice, kinship, destiny, and many others while sprinkling in plenty of moments of levity, every episode of Samurai Jack is something special. So, how does the new game, awkwardly released three years after the show’s sudden resurrection, fare?

REVIEW / Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (XO)
I love the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games. I always have, from the moment I first played the demo on my Dreamcast (yes, the first two games did come out on Dreamcast.) And while I stopped playing new installments after American Wasteland, I never stopped going back to the old ones. I’ve been wanting to see some representation of the series on modern consoles for a long time, and now that the completely remastered Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is here, I can’t put it down. I could end the review right there, but I have a feeling some people might need a bit more convincing.
