Ritual: Crown of Horns Review
Ritual: Crown of Horns is a Draw Distance production. This Poland-based developer’s horror credentials are impressive, given their work in the upcoming Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York and Halls of Horror (based on horror-themed board games of the same name). Though Ritual: Crown of Horns is the most intriguing, as it is a more traditional action game with a western twist.

Superliminal Review – Shift Your Perspective
Superliminal is a game that I’ve seen pop up in its development process for a long time. Early versions from several years ago looked as trippy as the release, but of course, they functioned more as a tech demo than an actual game. Building a game around a cool mechanic can be a daunting task and I’ve seen it fall apart more than once.

Retrospective Review: Battle Princess Madelyn
Battle Princess Madelyn is a recreation of an old classic game, but by imitating an old classic rather tan improving upon it, it retains the same missteps of those classic games, rather than improving upon them and building on their foundation. While it doesn’t misstep in all the same places as classic gaming, there are enough here that cause Battle Princess Madelyn to stumble, tripping up a good game from becoming a great game.

Beat Hazard 2 Review
Beat Hazard has a photosensitivity warning. Beat Hazard 2 also has one. I don’t have any sort of condition that makes me susceptible to that, but I imagine if staring at a strobe light would cause a problem for you, Beat Hazard 2 will deliver an experience similar to that. That is, among other reasons, why I didn’t bother making a video for this.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Review
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is an anomaly in the world of Nintendo platformers. It’s both a classic homage to the structure of its 2D origins, and a bold exploration of new ideas that refuses to abide by the standards set by the Super Mario Galaxy series before it.
