Organizations began to plan their safe return to the workplace while also accommodating their employees working from home in 2021, posing new problems to the world. Zoom has been hard at work providing the tools and capabilities that its users require to meet these difficulties head-on and prosper in new work contexts.

2021 in Review: Innovations from the past 12 months

1. Smart Gallery: Smart Gallery, a new Zoom Rooms feature, creates individual video feeds of in-room participants using cutting-edge gear from partners like Neat and Poly, as well as AI, offering remote participants a clearer view of their in-room counterparts and promoting equality in the meeting experience.

2. Auto-generated captions: Zoom’s objective of delivering happiness includes creating a meeting experience that everyone can enjoy. Auto-generated captions enable all employees to participate in meetings, including those who may be hard of hearing or working in a noisy setting.

3. Video mail: Zoom Phone’s video mail function allows users to leave video voicemails for other Zoom Phone users, providing a more personal alternative to regular voicemail and streamlining collaboration.

4. Zoom Rooms voice commands: Native voice commands, which are currently in public beta, provide on-site staff with a seamless solution for controlling their Zoom Rooms experience, all while eliminating device sharing to prevent illness and maintain productivity. Alexa for Business will be supported by Zoom Rooms gadgets, allowing you to accomplish activities without having to use your hands.

5. Virtual receptionist and Zoom’s kiosk mode: Virtual receptionist, a Zoom tool that allows staff to communicate with on-site stakeholders via Zoom’s kiosk mode, gives critical facility professionals that personal touch while also preserving their health and safety.

6. Workspace Reservation: Workspace Reservation, which is currently in public beta, allows users to quickly book spaces using an interactive map, whether on-site or remotely, offering a seamless experience for all employees.

7. Zoom Apps: Zoom Apps enables users inside their desktop Zoom Meetings access to their preferred workspace solutions, interactive games, and apps.

8. Zoom For Home: For every firm, especially those with remote workers, creating a professional meeting experience with high-quality audio and video and dynamic functionality is crucial. Zoom for home extends this experience to remote offices by allowing Zoom customers to use purpose-built personal collaboration devices for video meetings, interactive whiteboarding, and other tasks.
