What cybersecurity certification should you get?

The cybersecurity world has flooded the market with a lot of certifications and qualifications. So if you are planning on pursuing these so-called cybersecurity "experts," which one should you get? If you head over to Google and type in cybersecurity certification, you will see a variety of certification options, including penetration tester certifications like OSCP, CISSP, and CEH.

There are also numerous accreditations for the specific industries such as banking or healthcare. While there is no clear answer to that question, I will still give you my two cents on which certification would benefit you most.

Skills-based certifications

There's no shortage of cybersecurity certifications to choose from. In fact, there are more than 1,000 available. And while all of them have their own sets of benefits and drawbacks, some are better suited for certain situations than others. The best one for you depends on your goals and career path.

CISSP If you want to be an IT security expert, the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is the certification for you.
