How to Earn $1K Per Month With SEO—a Legit Side Hustle

You can’t rely on AI writing, but you can use it to write SEO content more quickly

By Minhal NawazPublished about a year ago 4 min read

It’s no secret that SEO is a lucrative career path. But what if you’re looking for a side hustle? Can you still make good money with SEO?

The answer is YES — you can easily earn up to $1,000 per month through this technique involving Search Engine Optimization.

You can even do this if you’re an absolute beginner. Just trust the process.

Ranking on Google is no joke. You will definitely have to pull up a few strings, but with this side hustle idea, you can avoid putting in extra hard work.

The Idea:

Today, we are going to talk about flipping small websites. Now, you must be thinking that all you got to do is buy a domain, host it on a server, write 5 articles and boom sell the site for some $50 or $100 bucks. No. That’s not it.

If you want to make sure that you earn around $1000 with SEO then you’ll have to give something extra.

I’ve already written a post regarding this topic. Make sure to give it a read before starting further.

Earnings:

This month I was able to sell a website for $400, after optimizing it for SERPs. I did that after following a few SEO tactics that you obviously don’t need to learn more about.

What I Offered for this Site:

After its launch, this site managed to get 25 clicks and around 500+ impressions in GSC which means it was doing pretty well.

I provided 15 Keyword ideas for this post as well besides the 15 published posts. Additionally, I used Jasper AI to write content.

What’s Jasper AI?

Jasper is a virtual writing assistant that can help you with your writing projects. Jasper can provide feedback on your writing, help you plan and organize your ideas, and even generate new content for you.

All you need to do is ask.

Can You Totally Rely on Jasper?

No, if you do that you won’t be able to get good SEO results with Jasper. You’ll have to proofread the content manually, and that only takes like 10 minutes. Also, it takes around 30 minutes for me to produce blog posts with Jasper.

So make sure to check your content and add something “better” than what’s already available on SERPs.

How To Use Basic SEO To Derive Results on New Websites?

Now, here’s the real deal. In this section, I’ll break down what works for me when I create and optimize new sites for SEO.

All you have to do is, make sure you have Jasper AI or any other content source, write 10–15 posts and follow these steps.

Let’s have a look:

1. Keyword Research

If you want to rank quickly on Google without going through the hard process then start targeting long-tail keywords. Select a tool such as Ahrefs, or Semrush and then search for low-competition informational keywords in the Questions section.

For instance, in my case I use, Semrush, so I gathered keywords with low difficulty and informational intent. Check the top 10 websites ranking for that particular keyword (this can be done within the tool, no need to manually do that). If you see any forum websites such as Quora, or Reddit then there’s a chance for you.

2. Post Structure

Now that you have your keywords, make sure to gather a few similar questions to answer in your post. This process involves using FAQs and answering them in detail under a separate sub-heading.

For instance, if I were to write on “Can Cats Eat Cheese?” which is my main query, I’ll probably go with the following sub-headings:

Nutritional Value of Cheese

  • Is Cheese Good for a Cat’s Normal Diet?
  • Why Can’t Cats Eat Cheese?
  • What Happens if You Give Cheese to Your Cat?

I hope you’ll get an idea of this post structure. Just bear in mind that you have to answer in a better way than your competitors.

3. On-Page Optimization

If you want your website to rank higher in SERPs, on-page optimization is the key. This means optimizing your title tags, meta descriptions, and header tags. This makes it easy for indexing your new website.

I recommend using RankMath for optimizing your posts, don’t invest too much time in optimizing. Also, consider using Instant Indexing by Rankmath to quickly index your posts.

4. Website Speed

Don’t go for themes that badly affect your site speed. Make sure you’re using images in WebP format. You can use plugins like Ewww Image Optimizer, or Smush.

5. Mobile Optimization

Make sure your website is mobile-friendly.

More and more people are using their phones to search for information, so you want to make sure your website looks good on all devices. Use a theme like GeneratePress or Astra.

6. Post Tons of Content

In SEO, quality > quantity. But, publishing a large volume of content can enhance your rankings for a new website.

You can use Jasper to quickly write informational blog posts. Just make sure you don’t depend on AI that much. At least give your post a read one time to see if it makes sense or not.

The Main Goal:

The main goal is to carry out small steps and then flip the website within two weeks. The flipping process is explained in the post that I’ve shared above. I’ll also write a detailed post about it.
