Introduction

This is a follow up from a line in a recent post, and a personlisations of many other pieces that I have written.

Why I Write

Since my childhood, putting pen to paper to capture thoughts has always been part of my life, and that morphed into putting finger to keyboard, although these days I start the day with some handwriting of my thoughts and what I am doing.

I have published my blog for over twenty years, but Vocal actually instilled a little discipline into my writing, and since joining I have gained a lot of knowledge, made some amazing friends and, and been given a great deal of encouragement and support.

I say thet writing is therapeutic, and it allows you to say things, usually without fear of criticism or complaint. I have only expereienced bad vibes from about a dozen Vocal creators, but they are blocked on Facebook, and I soppose that is going to happen in any environment.

I do sometimes worry that I publish too much on Vocal, but I say this to people, treat my stories like newspaper articles, if they don;t catch your interest, find something that does. We read books from start to finish, but we don't do that with newspapers and magazines. I want everyone who reads my articles to enjoy them because I somehow caught their eye.

A bit on my creative process from four years back, which gives you a chance to hears me and my creative process:

Since being on Vocal I managed to meet my ambition to publish a book (fifteen now self-published) and they bring in a little coffee money.

When I publish something on Vocal it does set me up for the day, I don;t know if that is a good or bad thing, but it does make me feel better in myself.

I know at times I can be laconic, (this piece is about four hundred words), but I also don't want to bore people or put them off because my story is too long, or contains to many facts and information that swamps the mind of the reader.

I have included an unaccompied version of "Gasoline Alley " by Rod Stewart (when he was good and hadn't met Donald) because it is a gorgeous melody that I can play on the guitar, but as yet can't play and sing at the same time, maybe I will do that one day.
