Why I Will Probably Never Receive Another Vocal Top Story Bonus Or Place In A Challenge

Introduction

Before you think I am whining, I get a lot of reads and a few hearts too, and I have had a few Top Stories and placed in five Vocal Challenges and recieved over three thousand dollars from Vocal (although I am chasing fifteen dollars that they still owe me). So in my own opinion, I am very successful.

Why I Think What I Think.

Vocal have a very small team and many of them are doing multiple jobs, so they are able to just lounge about drinking coffee and coke.

While I believe that generally the stories are properly evaluated, I belive that before the moderators get the stories to read, there is a Vocal filter similar to our subscription list.

This is what Vocal tells us:

Many years ago when a manager I know got his intitial pile of CVs he would immediately bin half of them saying "I want the lucky ones". Of course if he was asked he never did that.

Now when the moderators see the Vocal feed they will be influenced by the images, titles, subtitles and most importantly the creators. They can then then make their choice of Top stories after they have read them to make sure they are worthy.

Every so often they will check the Latest Stories just to show there is no favouritism.

The four in the screenshot I see often on Top Stories and I follow three of them.

Vocal will of course deny my premise, and they have to.

But in Challenges and Top Stories we see the same people getting awards, and given the number of creators who are publishing on vocal I find that a little dubious.

I sometimes see some of the popular creators leave a heart on my work, but they never comment, almost as though they don't want to be seen associating with a troublemaker like me. Remember if you comment on my work I am not getting at you.

Conclusion

I do not know what the answer is. On my Zoom Call with Justin he gave me a lot of insights into what they have to and was ver complimentary about my attitude and work.

We all want Vocal to keep being the best publishing platform and we all have to keep doing outr best.

Vocal could be a bit more communicative, and to be quite honest I think we all can be.

One other thing that annoys me is that on the Leaderboard comments by Non V+ members don't count.

But I am fine reading, commenting and supporting and getting wonderful comments from other Creators.
