What if you were left alone here?

what if you were the last person on Earth?

Imagine a serene Sunday morning. You awaken, stretch your limbs, and open your window to a stunning sunny day. However, to your surprise, the bustling street that is usually filled with people is completely deserted. Where has everyone gone? It appears that you are the sole remaining human on this planet.

So, what will you do? Well, the answer is simple - anything you desire! If the world is your oyster, then this one belongs solely to you! Every wild idea, outrageous dream, or whatever else you can imagine! Jump into the fastest sports car and race down the highway. No traffic to hinder you! Play golf from the rooftop of a skyscraper! Why not? Who will object if you accidentally break a few windows with your golf ball? Have you always longed to live in a mansion? Well, now you can! You have a world full of opportunities and nothing to prevent you from relishing each and every one of them!

After all the excitement and pure bliss, you begin to ponder, "what's next?" Perhaps it's time to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of everyone and what actually happened. You can search for someone else. What if you aren't completely alone? You may explore the city in search of others, but in this scenario, you can search the entire world and not find a single soul. Yes, it does sound a bit frightening, I understand. Now, it's time to address more serious matters, such as how you will survive in this empty kingdom of yours... The first thing you must consider is food and drinking water. While you may have an ample supply for a while, certain perishable items like fruits and vegetables will spoil quickly. Consume those first! After all, there is no one to maintain the power stations that keep the refrigerators in grocery stores running, so they will eventually shut down.

Alright, what about water? Initially, try to gather every single bottle from nearby stores and bring them back to your place. Unfortunately, all the clean bottled water will eventually run out, so you will need to find a way to filter water. After spending a few days, weeks, or even months savoring those perishable foods, it's time to shift your focus to long-term provisions. Without electricity to keep refrigerators and freezers running, rice, beans, and canned foods will become your closest companions. Soon enough, you'll probably need to acquire farming skills to grow your own food, so don't wait until your supplies run out before honing those skills! Stocking up on medical supplies is also crucial. Visit as many pharmacies as possible to secure future provisions in case of emergencies. And be cautious because there won't be any doctors available to assist with serious injuries! So, perhaps parkour should be skipped in this world of yours... Learning about farming and DIY water-filtration isn't the only requirement. Currently, you rely on numerous individuals without even realizing it.

However, in a world where you're the last person on Earth, acquiring vital survival skills like hunting, first aid, and cooking will be imperative. You'll have to educate yourself in various areas. Do you ever feel like you don't have enough time for reading and self-education? Well, now you have an abundance of time and entire libraries and bookstores brimming with knowledge! Yeah, there won't be any internet in this world, so you'll have to go back to the methods your ancestors used. Initially, it will be challenging, but eventually, you'll become the ultimate survival expert! Communication is another essential aspect for you. You may currently identify as an introvert, but humans are inherently social creatures. However, what can you do if there's no one around to converse with? Maybe it's time to get yourself a dog. Or perhaps a few dogs? Hey, why not have your very own personal zoo? Just remember, now that you rule this planet, it's all up to you! But before you rush to the zoo and open all the cages, remember that these wild animals might see you as a long-awaited meal instead of a conversation partner!

Maybe it's best to stick with a dog or cat to combat loneliness... Or a parrot, at least it would respond to you! The next step will be finding your future sanctuary. Don't get me wrong, spending time in a cool mansion or palace is perfectly fine. You can do it for as long as you want! Alternatively, you can visit various luxury hotels and live like royalty there. You could even have a new home for each day! However, the whole "living your luxury fantasy" will eventually become tiresome. Moreover, in about ten years, these buildings will become quite unsafe without regular maintenance. Maybe you'll decide to move away from the city? The good news is that you can go anywhere you desire. There are no borders, migration laws, passports, or anything holding you back! Oh, but remember, in order to travel, you'll need to find sources of fuel. All these abandoned vehicles will be useless in the next few years as their fuel will go bad. So, you'll likely have to choose a place to settle down permanently. Personally, I would opt for somewhere with a moderate climate. Tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and blizzards are the last things I want to worry about while trying to survive alone! Speaking of weather, clothing is definitely something you should consider and plan for. Initially, you can visit all the stores and try on funny, weird, or super fancy outfits! However, after a while, you might want to prioritize practicality. Ensure you have clothing for every season and an abundance of warm clothes and blankets. Even if you decide to settle down in a perpetually warm location, you never know when it might get chilly! Well, I suppose all this talk about surviving as the last human on Earth can be quite frustrating and disheartening. But let's focus on the positive side! Just imagine all the ways you can entertain yourself! Acquiring knowledge and skills doesn't have to be solely for survival purposes...You have the opportunity to explore painting, pottery, sculpture, or storytelling! How about titles like "The Sole Survivor" or "Lost in Solitude"? Exciting, isn't it? And don't forget to hone your communication skills, especially if your only companion is a chatty parrot craving crackers! What would you do if you were the last person on Earth? Share your thoughts below, humans!
