Life
One courtyard is green and cool
It’s Arbor Day again, and I think of the trees in front of and behind the house in my hometown. There are three tile-roofed houses in my hometown, separated by a flower wall, and a cherry tree stretches out diagonally beside the black door. That cherry plant, I don’t know when it was planted, leaned against the ditch and grew crookedly, but it tried its best to lean against the brick wall, as if it wanted to nestle into the yard as much as possible so that it would not be forgotten. The flowers are also small, one by one, pink with white, so shy and endearing. The little flower couldn't help the wind. As soon as the wind blew, it fell into the muddy ditch outside the courtyard and was pecked by the ducks and geese playing in the ditch. The other cherry tree is not like this. It can be described as having twisted branches. A tree is full of flowers, blooming, whiter than snow. On the background of Xiaojiabiyu, there are a few rays of elegance, exuding a touch of poetry and haziness. In addition, the branches of the cherry are not straight, which adds a bit of softness. posture. When the flowers fall, the cherries produced will be big and fat, and the cherries will be better than agates. In comparison, the growing environment of this cherry is "unique" - less than two meters from the toilet. I don’t know if this cherry tree likes such an environment, but judging from the grand blooming of flowers every year, its happy-go-lucky nature is really admirable! Under the stone steps, there are two apple trees. Their flowers are green and white, like an elegant and pure woman. Even their fragrance is a bit bookish. Compared with the two cherries, they are a bit more noble and poetic. Our father led us to plant these two trees. We, three sisters, were originally one tree for each of us. The meaning is naturally clear. We want us to be like trees, blooming with flowers and bearing fruits, and be strong and upward. However, my tree was gnawed by pigs on the third day after it was planted. I remember that day, I was stroking the small tree and sobbing, and my small chest was filled with ups and downs of sadness and loss. Day after day, the saplings of my sisters have begun to poke out their green leaves and become stronger and stronger. My father noticed my envious look and bought an apricot tree early one morning. My father said that apricot trees are the best to grow and have fragrant flowers. This time they were planted behind the yard, and I danced for joy. It was drizzling that day, and my father dug a deep hole with a shovel. I carefully supported the sapling and watched my father bury the soil and then step down firmly with my feet. The spring rain was like oil, kissing the moist soil, kissing my father's hair, and kissing my cheek. A vigorous joy spread secretly from the bottom of my heart. Later, perhaps because I always secretly watered the tree, my little sapling grew extremely strong. By the summer when I went to college, it was already taller than the woodshed, full of flowers, and exuding Light fragrance. In addition, there are several grape roots buried along the base of the wall. As soon as early summer arrived, my mother and father worked tirelessly to build a long grape trellis. The grape vines seemed to understand their parents' wishes and climbed without stopping until they reached the opposite side of the flower wall, forming a strong natural barrier. When the grapes bore fruit, one bunch was green and the other was purple, we were so happy that we stepped on the small bench and cut out a small basket. In addition to sweetening our mouths, we can also give some to our neighbor Wang Erniang. Her legs were not very agile, but she quickened her pace and took it over happily. Not to mention the fragrance that fills the courtyard when the flowers bloom, but in summer, one courtyard is really lush and the other is cool! My mother was washing clothes and choosing vegetables under the vines, while my father was sitting next to her, sharpening a kitchen knife, chatting with her about household chores. Birds are chirping, there are a few old trees, thick shade covers the windows, and people and paintings are all green. This scene always appears in my dreams, making me shed tears on the pillow cover. Now, my father has left us for many years, and my mother has also moved out of the yard. During the Chinese New Year this year, I went back to my hometown to visit relatives and walked around my original house. I don’t know if the grapevines in the yard can still germinate, but the trees are still there. I looked at them and refused to leave for a long time.

How A Car Accident Made Me A Poet
Looking back on it now, with hindsight and the kind of time that living through a global pandemic allows, I finally was able to look back on the last six years of my life. Reanalyzing your life is a difficult process. While things are happening and the beat is moving and you’ve got fire under your heels there is no time to turn around or to try and see where your choices will lead you. Sure, some folks have that level of hindsight but I’ve never been one to wait around and study how things would turn out. Well I used to be, there was a time when I was a young lost twenty year old and all I did was plan, plan, plan. Instead of doing or just picking up the baseball bat and taking a swing, I would pace around my basement apartment and daydream. I built up an entire dimension of what could be but I never pulled the trigger.

Of Passion and Pleasure
This past year has been an incredibly stressful one. And, yes, that is in comparison to the absolute and unforgiving hell-scape we all felt during 2020! That's because my dad passing away was only a small part of that equation, believe it or not. It was definitely the catalyst that seemed to start a horrifying downward, emotional spiral for me.

Microsoft announces its killing support for the most popular Operating System
Microsoft has taken to its website to announce that Windows 10 has reached its end of support (EOS) phase, meaning Microsoft will sever support with the operating system. It was only early last month that data from StatCounter revealed that Windows users are currently migrating to Windows 11 from Windows 10, with earlier operating systems such as Windows 7 and Windows 8 taking up a small percentage of total Windows users. Notably, Windows 10 remains the dominant Operating System with a massive 71.64% market share. More interestingly, Windows 10 market share hasn't changed for the past year, as figures from September 2023 are identical to September 2022. Microsoft announcing its ending support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, is clearly a move to get users off of old operating systems onto new versions, and with this recent announcement, the move is likely going to work as users will want to be running the latest security updates. Microsoft writes, "Ensure that your organization isn't left running unsupported software that is no longer receiving security updates. Organizations running legacy software are vulnerable to significant security risk and potential compliance violations." "Windows 11 is the most secure Windows yet. Its extensive capabilities, including Copilot in Windows, are designed to help keep your organization protected and productive. These measures include built-in advanced encryption, data and credential protection, robust system security and network safety, and intelligent safeguards against evolving threats," writes Microsoft While support for Windows 10 is in its end phase, it's still two years away, and throughout that time, it will receive a normal amount of updates.

Her Heavy Embrace
Here I sit in silence, wall facing wall facing wall facing wall. I speak to no one in particular, and the walls echo, with silent snickers of my solitude. She smothers me with heavy arms as I move across the room. The door disappeared, maybe she hid it. I can’t be bothered to search for it.
