Le Guin Apprenticeship Journal IV
Nothing could have prepared me for this week. Nothing! It's not so much that I thought Verbal Repetition would be easy (though, of course, I did: who doesn't repeat themselves); it's just that I didn't realise my brain would unconsciously challenge itself to pack all the lessons of the last four weeks into this exercise alongside the repetition. Apparently now my subconscious is treating this project as a journey of compounding perfection, where each piece MUST be better than the last. What the punishment will be for failure, I dread to think... probably writer's block.

It's all in the mind?
Just wondering why, it seems that Labor Day seems to come quicker and quicker every year it seems. It is a day to honor the workingman but why are there still others that work on Labor Day like nurses, the military, and others too. The picnics from the staples from hamburgers and hot dogs to maybe some that do brisket or sausage somehow along with potato or macaroni salad and usually the same desserts from various pies, cakes and brownies. It always seems to be the same from year to year that it makes like a normal day working hard.

500th Story: A Message to Vocal Writers
I finally did it! I've officially reached the 500-story milestone! Since joining this amazing platform called Vocal back in 2018, my goal was to write about topics that not only were relatable and important to me, but also relatable to others. I went from a subscriber count in the single digits to 62 subscribers. My goal is to reach 100 subscribers in the next year. If this feat were to surpass that total, we would celebrate this achievement together. I say we, because you have been part of my success and stood by me. My love for writing dates back to the fifth grade, where I started writing poems about anything. I took an extended break from writing until I found Vocal and decided to give it a try. After the first month of being on this platform, I knew that I found a site where I could express myself. Now that I've reached this important milestone, my goal is to write 1,000 stories within the next couple of years. I'm halfway there, but I have to keep pushing. I've had several stories that were chosen as Top Stories and also received one-off tips. They help so much and means that you're supporting creators like me, so we can keep writing and publish new stories. I have yet to win a challenge on Vocal, but that only motivates me to keep writing more stories and maybe one day, I'll achieve that goal. If I were to win my very first challenge, we're going to celebrate that moment together.

Can't remember
As the title says, 'Can't remember.' I know there is something similar to what I am going to be doing, but not sure what. In the very near future, I am planning to write summaries/reviews of stories from old basal readers. I have found and bought several basal reading series from the Betts-Welsh to the New Basic Readers, the Ginn reading series and the Houghton Mifflin Series which is the ones I had in elementary school. I was leaping through some of these reading books and the stories are really pretty good even just for fun, and that's when I thought about sharing summaries/reviews of these stories. I do remember sharing a review or just two from a high school literature book I had and I may continue to read and summarize/review more of those stories. Please let me know what you think.
