Reactively: What Is Most Important In Our Vocal Publications

Introduction

While Vocal have given us a "transparent guide" on how Top Stories are chosen (to be taken with a large cellar of salt) which you can read here:

I thought I would state what is most important to me, although you may disagree.

While I know I am very well known, and successful in th enumber of reads I get for my work, I am not a popular Vocal creator with other Vocal members and the ones who dispense awards and bonuses.

In this post in 2023 I asked for Read Stats on our stories, but nothing came of it:

What Is Important To Me On My Vocal Stories

1. Reads: This is what brings in the money for me, but because of the numebr of stories I have published, I can't find the read unless there are very few, or a great deall of the (more that 100).

2. Vocal User Comments: These are as important to me as reads as they let me know what people think of my work, and then lead me on to th ework of that user.

3. Vocal User Tips: These are lovely to get and show that someone has read and loved your work. Even a dollar tip raises my spirits and makes me feel appreciated. Thugh we have to tip from the profile as the tip option has disappeared from individual stories.

4. Top Stories and Challenge Placements: These are important but a distant memory to me, but they always give a boost, but a Top Story is equivalnet to a thousand reads (financially roughly) and I have only four that have passed that number.

5. Hearts: These are nice to have but don;t really give me anything. Most of the time I do not know who left them and they do not signify that the story has been read.

6. Likes And Comments On Your Stories Shared Outside Of Vocal: Again nice to have but I think a lot of time it is just because people like the picture and often do not result in any interaction, although somimes they do significantly (se my Top Stories, few Vocal hearts but lots of reads)
