My Science Fiction Imagined as a TV Series

I am working on a serialized science fiction suspense story that I’ve been publishing over on Kindle Vella.

In short, Vella is a platform for readers and writers of serialized fiction and non fiction. The first 3 episodes are always free and after that an episode costs tokens. The minimum is 600 words which cost 6 tokens. 700 costs 7, and 1,000 costs 10 and so forth.

Previously, I wrote out the first 12 episodes in a TV series format. I will be continuing with the next 12 episodes. You can find episodes 1–12 here

Insight

(science fiction, drama, suspense)

Donovan Stowe, a young man full of wonder suddenly finds himself ripped from his ordinary life and in the world of Illumina where the most unimaginable and advanced technologies are just part of everyday life. Hoping to find a way back home, his discoveries only lead him to a highly advanced tech research facility called Insight. Donovan’s unusual fascination with everyday technology captures the immediate attention of the formidable Dr. Maddox. Before long, Donovan finds himself caught between projects full of obsession and fascination and desperately searching for a way back home.

Episode 13: “Let Your Passion Take Control”

After Donovan has some second thoughts, Dr. Maddox persuades Donovan to follow through and take the required test to get into Insight; Donovan begins his own way of studying for the test by using the info vaults.

Episode 14: “The Impossible Test”

Donovan soon realizes that this test is not like any other he’s ever experienced and proves to be far more challenging than he could have ever imagined.

Episode 15: “Perhaps Reconsider, Dr. Maverik”

Dr. Maddox convinces Dr. Maverik to reconsider and let Donovan become a scientist of Insight despite him failing the test miserably — The worst that anyone has ever done so.

Episode 16: “Your Training Commences, Donovan Stowe!”

Donovan realizes to his surprise that Insight will still give him a chance despite failing the test and starts his training under the watchful and particular eye of the lead scientist of the tech lab, Dr. Maddox.

Episode 17: “Insight’s Wonderous Tech Lab”

Donovan is officially introduced to Insight’s state of the art and prestigious tech lab and begins to experience even more unfathomable technologies.

Episode 18: “Nova”

Donovan continues to learn the daily activities of the tech lab under Dr. Maddox’s guidance. He is introduced to a device called a product teleporter and meets fellow scientist, Nova, who is passionate with time travel.

Episode 19: “Homesick for Just Plain Old Normalcy”

The reality of having a career that would otherwise only exist in his dreams and feelings of missing home simultaneously hit Donovan.

Episode 20: “Eludesiht”

Donovan attends his first meeting at Insight and learns about a new invisibility component in early development called eludisiht.

Episode 21: “Idiotic and Passionate Ideas”

Discussion about the invisibility component, eludisiht, continues. Nova brings up her desire to resume the development of a time machine.

Episode 22: “Not Quite the Dream Job”

Donovan starts to show some hesitation his first day working in the tech lab and is given some brutally honest advice from Dr. Maddox.

Episode 23: “The First Mistake”

After making a foolish and potentially fatal mistake, Donovan realizes soon enough that working with the technologies in Insight’s tech lab is far more challenging and dangerous than he thought.

Episode 24: “Under My Most Close and Careful Watch”

Dr. Maverik starts to have serious doubts with making an exception to let Donovan into Insight. Meanwhile, Dr. Maddox is strongly adamant to continue training Donovan personally and decides to take it up a notch.

Writing out the summary of each episode as if it were from a TV series has been a fun challenge and has given me a new perspective of seeing my story. It’s pretty cool imagining it as a TV series! 😉 Plus, it helps me tremendously with plotting out my story.
