How Readers, Authors & Narrators Benefit from Audible Books

Consider the rewards for listening and promoting Audible Books

By Justiss GoodePublished 4 months ago • 3 min read

I recently wrote about ACX, the platform for authors who want audio books created. Since ACX is owned by Amazon, you can guess where all those audio books will go on sale.

If you guessed the Amazon marketplace, you're absolutely right. But what you may not have guessed, is that those same audio book titles can also get visibility and be purchased on the Audible platform.

So after sharing a little information about ACX, I figured I'd go a bit further and provide some useful details about:

Amazon's Audible services for audio book lovers

...and also about...

ACX Bounty Program for earning referral commissions

Admittedly, I'm hoping to motivate myself as well as other writers, especially when it comes making money from the ACX referral “bounty” program. By being lax about promoting my own two audio books, I know I’ve been leaving money on the table.

It's no secret that book lovers truly enjoy listening to audio books, so authors who neglect to focus on this particular market, do themselves an injustice.

Consider the following...

Audio Book Lovers Appreciate the Audible Brand

When it comes to the audio book industry, Amazon’s “Audible” books are highly popular with readers.

Anyone who knows the Amazon brand, knows that they always have some kind of specials and deals, to keep consumers happy and always coming back.

My 73-year-old sister resides in a nursing home, and her favorite past time is listening to audio books. She’s had the same Audible account with Amazon for more than ten 14 years!

The various Amazon offers to book customers also extend to audio book shoppers, like the trial offers pertaining to their own brand of Audible audio books.

Audible books are KDP self published digital books that have been converted to audio format. (And of course, KDP also belongs to Amazon)

One of the great benefits connected with Audible books has to do with the Free Audible Trial, allowing customers to try the services for a limited time, without paying a fee.

Customers benefit from the ability to try the service and see if they like and want to keep it.

This is actually advantageous to everyone concerned.

Notice how...

Authors & Narrators Benefit from Audible Books

In addition to the obvious benefits that customers receive, the book’s author can benefit from:

1) Audio book sales. And if they’re also an affiliate like me, from:

2) Commissions related to the Audible Free Trial

3) Commissions related to the Bounty Program

The narrator of the book can also potentially benefit from the same sources as the author (if they’re affiliates).

This knowledge has prompted me to resume promoting my own audio books available on Audible, as well as Audible books created by other authors.

As an Amazon affiliate, the Free Audible Trial is one of several book related links that I currently share with visitors to my "Goode On the Grind" Benable recommendations.

Final Thoughts

In case you’re wondering why you're seeing various Justiss Goode stories about Audible, ACX, and other Amazon programs and resources, it’s because too many of us writers are missing out on money making opportunities right under our noses.

From what I’ve been able to determine, Amazon actually has a love affair with writers and authors, due to the high volume of business that we bring to their table.

Like so many other Amazon services and resources, Audible is tailor made for writers turned authors.

If you're an author considering the idea of creating an audio book, do yourself a favor and use ACX, so you can have your digital book turned into an audio book for the Audible platform, where you can earn from various promotions and sales.

You can benefit from visiting me on Benable, where you can: Sign up for a Free Audible Trial and also find links to my audio books.
