BRI Announces New Policy Changes Regarding Passive Accounts
Bank Bri's New Policy
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, better known as BRI, has announced new policy changes regarding time limits for dormant accounts. A dormant account is an account that is inactive or not used by customers to carry out transactions for a certain period of time.
This new policy is designed to improve the quality of services provided by Bank Rakyat Indonesia to all its customers.
"In accordance with this new regulation, a Bank Rakyat Indonesia account will be declared passive if no transactions are carried out for 180 consecutive days, regardless of the minimum balance in the account," said Bank Rakyat Indonesia Corporate Secretary, Agustya Hendy Bernadi.
When do changes to BRI Bank's policies and conditions take effect?
This policy will be effective on August 1 2024. In addition, Bank Rakyat Indonesia has implemented changes to the dormancy (passive) period for BRI Simpedes Savings and BRI Britama Savings to 180 days without considering the customer's nominal balance.
This means that customers who do not make transactions, including credit and debit except for savings and card administration fees, for 180 days will experience their account status changed to dormant (passive). In addition, for BRI Savings, accounts with passive (dormant) status if there are no transactions for 180 days and below the minimum balance requirement will be closed automatically.
If there are customers who experience dormant accounts, Bank Rakyat Indonesia has prepared a solution so as not to disrupt the customers' various financial transactions. "If the account changes status to passive (dormant), customers can still reactivate the account by coming to the nearest Bank Rakyat Indonesia work unit."
"Don't forget to bring your identity and proof of account ownership when reactivating your account," added Hendy.
