A Little Recognition
My Edgar Allen Poe Poem Has Been Featured In Spillwords

Introduction
A while ago I submitted my poem "Another Raven" for a challenge on Spillwords, not expecting to hear anything, then I got the email you can see above.
This is what I Take From It
Although the poem was published two years ago on Vocal it got a good reception from other Vocal Creators. I had the idea to try a rewrite using the same poetic format as the original and then was shocked to find that "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe consisted of eighteen six-line verses.
I thought it was an impossible task that I had set myself, but then thought I could relate each verse to a Poe story, so set about writing it. Pam Reeder suggested that I should make a recording for Halloween that year, which I did and included with the Vocal poem.
Ultimately it became the poem that I am still most proud of. Since then I have targeted others but have not been able to repeat this feat, although I have written a lot that I am very proud of and my Vocal audience and friends love.
When I got the email from Dagmar at Spillwords I was shocked, but over the moon that another body appreciated my work enough to share it with their audience. That endorses that my work is worthwhile and the support and endorsement of my close Vocal friends and audience have be shown to be right.
I AM a good poet and author.
I have received a lot of congratulations from the Admins and members in the VSS Facebook group that you can see here:
The Spiilwords publication is here, and I love that image so much I have borrowed it for my Vocal poem:
The poem is also available in this free download for the next week
Conclusion
This is another endorsement that I am a worthy writer, although I wouldn't have got this far without the support and encouragement of my Vocal friends and audience, especially the Vocal Social Society.
This has been an amazing start to the weekend, and yesterday "The Last Flight", the incredible new album from Public Service Broadcasting inspired by Amelia Earheart came through my letter box, so I will include the penultimate song from it here, "A Different Kind Of Love" which is appropriate because that is what I have got from Spillwords, and it makes me feel amazing.
Thank you for reading, without you I could not have done this.
