Glorious 50K sales milestone of the Tata Nexon EV

Tata Motors, the leading automobile manufacturer in India and a pioneer in the country's electric vehicle (EV) revolution, announced today that its best-selling EV, the Nexon EV, has reached a significant milestone of 50,000 sales. Since its launch in 2020, the Nexon EV has transformed the EV market in India by providing people with a firsthand experience of electric vehicles, allowing them to travel long distances with ease. The introduction of the Nexon EV aimed to overcome barriers to EV adoption among Indian customers, and it has successfully played a vital role in India's transition to electric mobility.

Currently available in over 500 cities across India, the Nexon EV has covered an impressive distance of over 900 million kilometers on various terrains. This remarkable achievement demonstrates the confidence of the Nexon EV community, who have embarked on long trips of up to 1500 kilometers in a single stretch. On average, Nexon EV owners are driving approximately 6.3 million kilometers per month on intercity and outstation journeys spanning from 100 to 400 kilometers. This remarkable performance is further supported by India's rapidly growing charging infrastructure, which has witnessed an extraordinary growth of over 1500% between FY21 and FY23. With more than 6,000 charging stations available in the country today, it is evident that barriers to public adoption of EVs are being shattered.

Equipped with an enhanced range of 453 kilometers, the Nexon EV achieved a remarkable feat by covering the 'Fastest' drive from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in an EV, earning a place in the India Book of Records. It completed the 4003-kilometer journey in just 95 hours and 46 minutes (less than four days), showcasing its capability for multi-city trips. Throughout the drive, the Nexon EV performed like any other vehicle, conquering challenging terrains and extreme weather conditions while effortlessly delivering an average real-world range of over 300 kilometers. This exceptional accomplishment resulted in the establishment of 25 records during the record-breaking drive.

The Nexon EV contributes up to 15% of the total Nexon brand sales and is available in Prime, Max, and #Dark variants, with prices starting from INR 14.49 lakhs. Based on sales trends, the Nexon EV is particularly popular among young buyers.

Recently, Tata Motors introduced the upgraded Nexon EV MAX XZ+ LUX, starting at INR 18.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, All India) for the 3.3 kW AC charger. This top-of-the-line variant of the MAX model boasts an array of superior and high-tech features. It includes a 26.03 cm (10.25 inch) Touchscreen Infotainment system by HARMAN, a high-resolution (1920X720) High Definition (HD) display with smooth responsiveness, Android Auto™ and Apple Carplay™ over WiFi, a High Definition Rear View Camera, enhanced audio performance with sharp notes and extended bass, a Voice Assistant in six languages, and over 180 voice commands available in English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi. The User Interface (UI) has also been refreshed for an improved user experience.

The Nexon EV offers best-in-class features such as leatherette ventilated seats, a wireless charger, an electric sunroof, an auto-dimming IRVM (Internal Rear View Mirror), multi-drive modes, and multi-regen options. The vehicle is also equipped with advanced safety features, including ESP (Electronic Stability Program) with iVBAC (Intelligent Variable Braking Assist and Corner Stability Control), an electronic parking brake with auto hold, dual airbags, and all disc brakes. Furthermore, the Nexon EV supports multiple charging options, including 3.3 kW AC charging, 7.2 kW AC fast charging, and compatibility with DC fast charging.
