Plan your route

The first thing to do is to plan the itinerary. Do you want to explore one or several countries? You might not want to think about this and go wherever the road takes you, but remember to plan at least your first destination, especially, if you’re going to a foreign country.

Research

After deciding where you will go, you should do research on places you will visit. If you are driving abroad, get to know the country, its must-see places. Learn about their culture, so as not to feel uneasy after arriving. And most importantly, make sure to know the laws, concerning your rights and obligations, and you won’t get in any trouble.

Get Your Car Ready

The most important thing to think about for a road trip is the vehicle. Do you have a car or you plan to rent it? In either case you must make sure your car is in a good condition. Here are the things you need to check before starting your trip.

Before you leave your house, make sure to turn everything off (electricity, gas, water), if no one’s going to live there.

Budget

You need to know how long your trip will last, and make sure you have the necessary amount to live during that period.
