If you have never stayed at a Harvest Host site, you are missing out on an opportunity. If you are unfamiliar with this resource, follow the link to the article below. If you are looking for a place to park in Utah for the night continue to read this article.

An Endorsement of a a Spectacular RV Resorce - Harvest Host Explained

This was the first night of our cross-country trip. We had bitten off a large section to drive to begin with because we are familiar with Utah so drove longer than usual. And since we forgot our passports, had to return home to retrieve them, and hit construction, we arrived in the evening. Thus, there was no time to play a round of golf but a close second is watching it.

Randy enjoys watching and critiquing the golfers. Cisco enjoyed being held. As we sat beside the RV we enjoyed a perfect evening watching players practicing their putts as the sun disappeared over the mountain. In the morning, we drank coffee while watching a charity tournament. Events like this are entertaining because there is such a mix of talent, and there is little pressure as the goal it to have a good time and support a great cause.

We talked to some of the participants and learned the tournament was in honor of a 23 year-old man who had died due to complications with a brain tumor. One of the benefits of staying with Harvest Hosts is the opportunity to meet new people. All of our hosts to date have been welcoming. In fact, they go beyond what is expected to assist.

Beyond the paved parking lot was a large, level gravel area perfect for parking an RV and convenient for turning around. We set up our chairs and enjoyed the cool temperatures. We enjoy Harvest Host stops because there are generally no other RVers and we have the space to ourselves as was true in this case. This has the added advantage of not tormenting our pups with a lot of other dogs. When we stay in the larger RV parks, the dogs become overstimulated, and it is difficult to walk them without raising the hair on the back of their necks and sparking barking.

This facility was fenced creating a sense of security. When the course closed in the evening, the front gate was locked, but we were provided a way to exit in case of an emergency. For a night, we owned the golf course.

If we hadn't been given specific directions, we might have driven past the golf course. It laid nestled in a residential area with little traffic noise. The maintenance crew did begin work early but we are early risers so this did not bother us at all.

About Schneiter's Bluff Golf Course

The course was in fantastic shape with plush, green fairways and smooth greens. The description from the internet accurately described the course. Coupled with our own observations, I guarantee we will return to play some time in the future.

"Schneiter’s Bluff Golf Course is located in West Point, about a mile away from Farmington Bay in the Great Salt Lake. Schneiter’s Bluff is unique and quirky, evident before you even tee off. The first practice green, between the clubhouse and hole #1, makes a circle formation with a rockwork fountain standing in the middle. The second practice green, en route to the #10 tee box, is ginormous and quite undulated. The shape is reminiscent of the letter “F”. These different shaped greens bleed into the course with very deep and skinny greens with distinctive shapes and sizes." - Review from Utahgolfguy.com

If you are to stay here for the night be aware they do not have a kitchen to prepare meals. You can grab a hotdog, sandwich, or some snacks which is pretty typical of a golf venue. There are restaurants available within a couple miles.

Strongly recommend this stop to golfers and travelers alike.

That sounds fun to own a gold course at night! Reminds me of camping trailer trips I went on with my parents back in the day from wisconsin. Forgot your passports ?? Do you need those to go to Canada these days, or are you being super adventurous and heading south ?
