Out And About In Summer 2024
James & Oneg’s Summer Writing Extrav-again-za! - August 30th- #5 Not a Bummer Summer

Introduction
This is for James and Oneg's final prompt in the challenge below.
The music is "Staying Out For The Summer" by Dodgy.
So Why My Summer Was A Good One
There are lots of reasons
I've had great times with friends and family and became friends with a wonderful trans performer Jade Mi Broadhead who I interviewed here.
I also discovered I could get very cheap rail travel to visit my home town of Preston. This started last year when I was going to take my sister Yvonne for a birthday lunch and the trains south were all cancelled. Then we tried to rearrange and I found I could get return tickets for £20 (the full cost should be £140).
We did lunch early in the summer and discovered an amazing restaurant for her belated 2023 birthday lunch and this was the place.
Wandering Preston I was struck by the beauty of Avenahm Park, close to where I went to secondary school, but I thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful day there by the River Ribble (which I often visit when I holiday in Settle).
In my wandering around Preston I chanced upon this wonderful artist who I am going to hopefully interview. Her soundscapes are amazing so hope to share more of her in a Vocal interview, but you can check her art and music out here:
I do love the image and it was her guitar case that first caught my eye and I used it for this Vocal piece.
Because of my age I get free bus travel over the whole of the UK which means that I can travel to so many places and discover new things.
Today I revisited Morpeth and this amazing antiques place in the old courthouse:
I have discovered a lot of new restaurants and seen a lot of bands as well.
I keep discovering new and old music and my vinyl collection keeps growing.
My writing on Vocal continues to improve and I am getting a lot of reads, though i am not sure from where, though I still continue to be a thorn in Vocal's side but someone needs to tell them when they get it wrong, along with the many things that they get right.
Conclusion
This is has been a great summer and I have a lot more journeys of discovery to take going forward.
Thank you so much for reading.
