1. How to Spend Day One in Doha – Check in to your Doha Hotel

As most flights arrive during the morning hours, you will probably get to the city in time for a full day of exploration. But first, head over to your hotel, drop off your luggage and get refreshed. You will benefit by booking central Doha hotels. Amongst popular Doha resorts are Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels By Tivoli. These are hotels located close to the hugely popular Souq Waqif, which is a traditional Arabic bazaar loved for its allures of dining, shopping and entertainment. Plus, staying close to Souq Waqif in Doha will have many benefits. And not having to travel far for sightseeing means you have more time to enjoy the finer side of your hotel too, like experiencing the benefits of a Qatar spa massage, which is quite an indulgence to savour.

2. Make Sure to Explore the Museums in Doha

Once you are refreshed, head out and start exploring. Doha boasts an impressive collection of museums, which offer world-class experiences. One of the best is the Museum of Islamic Art. The collection of artefacts there is impressive and fascinating discoveries for foreigners. Once done with your museum tours, visit the Old Quarter. There, you can people watch, drink in the atmosphere, check out the vintage buildings and savour the fascinating ambience of the place.

3. Enjoy a Shopping and Dining Spree

You can then head over to the Souq. Plenty of restaurants there offer traditional Arabic and regional cuisine for you to savour local flavours. Once refreshed and rested, start your shopping inside the exotic market. Part of the market is the Gold Souq, which, even if you are not buying jewellery, must be visited for the experience. Intricately crafted jewellery is displayed amongst the many stalls there. And be warned, you just may end up buying a pair of elegant earrings or a ring.

Other parts of the Souq to explore include the spice shops, textile vendors, leather goods merchants and other fascinating sellers of produce you find in a traditional Arabic market.

Once done, head back to your hotel, tuck away your shopping, and get changed for dinner at your Doha resort restaurant.

4. How to Spend Day 2 in Doha – Experience Sun, Sand, and Surf

Qatar is located on a peninsula. And in addition to being surrounded by the Persian Gulf, Doha is surrounded by desert sands too. One cannot miss a desert sands experience in Doha. And so, even on a two-day visit, you must squeeze in this important encounter. Book a desert tour via your hotel in Doha. You will be picked up in the early hours to head out on a tour. Choose a 4WD dune bashing tour or a trek on camelback. You can stop for lunch at a coastal Bedouin camp and even enjoy a swim in the warm waters of the Persian Gulf.

5. Take in a Dhow Cruise

Head back to your resort and rest. Then head out to the coast and hop aboard a dhow. Dhow tours are ideal for savouring time on the water and enjoying the views. Make sure to take along your camera. You can choose the traditional dinner and local entertainment tour, which is a barbeque in traditional style. Or if stuck for time, choose the quick sunset tour. End it with a walk on the Corniche and dinner at a Souq Waqif restaurant or head back to your Doha hotel for evening drinks and dinner at one of the resort’s signature restaurants.

Enjoy your time in Doha!
