Are you finally going on your dream vacation to the Maldives? The tropical country calls for summer beach wear, but in some areas, you might need a conservative outfit. Understanding what to wear in the Maldives will help you enjoy your stay even more.

What to wear at resort islands in the Maldives?

When you’re in one of the villas in Maldives, dress in light summer clothing. Most resorts won’t allow topless beachwear, but you can proudly sport your bikini-clad body near the pool and deck spaces. The dress code at resort islands like the Summer Island Maldives is likely to be casual and allow for a wider range of choices. Pack light, breathable tops, and short and long pants. A couple of extra bathing suits would come in handy. Bring a shawl, pashmina or sarong to cover up yourself whenever you need to do so.

When you go to eat at restaurants, even on a private island, avoid swimsuits. Dress up in something casual yet a bit on the modest side. Hence, bring your wide-brimmed hat and put on plenty of sunscreen. You don’t really need footwear to walk on those silky, sandy shores. But, if you’re going to walk over to a reef, bring reef shoes. A pair of sandals or flip-flops would do for simply getting from the hotel to the beach.

Before embarking on your boat trip, don a light shirt tunic or shorts. Wear your hat to protect yourself from the heat. The sun is stronger on the water as it reflects the rays. And, don’t forget your sunscreen and reef shoes.

When you go diving, the tropical waters would be warm enough for swim shorts and a rash guard. But, since it’s easy to get sunburned. Hence, a wet suit might be a better choice. Pack your things in a dry bag. Pick lightweight gear, and always check your gear before your journey.
