Discovering everything Bangkok has to offer within 48 hours is near impossible, but with the right guide, you can explore most of the classics. The trick is to plan your visit and understand what you can and can’t do within a short space of time. To make the most of your time, you should spend at least six hours in one region and discover everything that region has to offer. So, read on to find out how you can make the most of your 48 hours in Bangkok.

Day 1 – First half of the day

The major tourist attractions in Bangkok are located within walking distance of each other; this means that you can cover most of these places during the first half of the day. Wat Po, Wat Arun, Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the Grand Palace are a few places that should be included in your first-day itinerary.

Most Bangkok guided tours include all of these places, so if you don’t know how to get around but want to visit all these places, join a guided tour.

Also, you should know that if you want to discover as many landmarks as you can during your limited time here, you should find the right accommodation for you. Bangkok, being a city with a thriving tourism industry, offers you an extensive list of accommodation options, including the likes of lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok. Hostels and guesthouses are great for those with a budget, and hotels and resorts are an excellent option if you can go above the minimum budget requirement. If you, however, want to get some work done, think about co-living in Sukhumvit.

Day 2 – Evening

Every tourist in Bangkok should experience the city’s spectacular shopping scene. There’s a long list of shopping malls and street markets you can visit, but given that you don’t have much time here, you might have to be content with visiting just one street market. And that one street market should be Asiatique The Riverfront. This massive street market sits by the river, selling a wide variety of things. You can also sample some delicious Thai food here.

However, if you’d rather spend your time enjoying the nightlife, you have a great many opportunities. You can also visit one of the cinemas and enjoy a movie.

Day 3 – First half of the day

Say yes to more shopping and go visit the shopping malls; there are plenty that you can visit. Almost every shopping mall is air-conditioned and houses a dizzying array of shops. These shops sell everything from clothes to shoes to electronics to books. You can also shop for antiques at Bangkok shopping malls. The best thing about shopping in Bangkok is that there’s always a bargain to be had.

If you can spare the time, you should also visit the floating markets. Floating markets are a quintessential part of Bangkok’s culture and a major tourist attraction. They are also delightfully unusual.

Day 4 – Evening

Dedicate your last evening in Bangkok to discovering as many street markets as you can. Street markets are the beating heart of Bangkok. This is where you can glimpse local life, mingle with locals, and find great bargains.

You should also find the time to enjoy some local food. There’s a massive number of restaurants in Bangkok ranging from upscale to mid-range to road stalls. You can get the best value for your money if you dine at the street markets; there are sections dedicated to Thai street food.

If you can stretch your evening a bit more, head to Terminal 1. This is a famous shopping mall with each floor representing a different touristic city.
