On April 9, 2026, during the Philippine holiday commemorating Day of Valor, our Consultant Team traded our usual workday surroundings for the cool highlands of Claveria, Misamis Oriental. Our destination was Hiraya Farm Escape, a countryside leisure and adventure destination in Claveria.

The holiday outing included outdoor activities, landscaped attractions, a shared meal, and time together away from the workplace.

Leaving Tagoloan Behind

Our journey started at around 8:00 a.m. from Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, with the group travelling in two service vehicles. By approximately 9:00 a.m., we had arrived at Hiraya Farm Escape and settled in before deciding which activities we wanted to experience.

The change of setting provided a welcome break from schedules, documents, meetings, deadlines, and project responsibilities.

With a full day ahead of us, we chose a mix of energetic activities and quieter places to explore.

The variety of activities made it easy for the group to shape the day around different interests.

ATV and Buggy Activities

At around 10:31 a.m., we began with two of the day's more adventurous activities: the ATV and buggy rides.

The ride took us beyond the main visitor area and onto an outdoor farm route.

Photo 9. Several off-road buggies positioned on an open activity area, with riders seated inside and landscaped slopes behind them.
Photo 10. A buggy travelling along an unpaved farm route bordered by banana plants, cultivated ground, and open sky.

The ATV and buggy rides gave us a closer look at the farm’s uneven roads and open countryside.

For the team, the activity provided a setting very different from the usual workplace environment.

There were no meeting tables,

documents for review,

or deadlines under discussion.

Instead, the group experienced open countryside, motorized activities, and uneven terrain together.

Visit to the Orchidarium

At around 11:00 a.m., we shifted gears and visited the Orchidarium.

The Orchidarium provided a quieter activity after the motorized rides.

Photo 11. White and purple orchids displayed in hanging pots inside the enclosed Orchidarium.
Photo 12. Clusters of purple, yellow, and white orchids arranged around natural wood features and stone-covered planting beds.
Photo 13. Long sprays of white orchids with purple centers hanging beneath the transparent geometric roof.
Photo 14. Yellow orchids growing beside broad green leaves and a light-colored stone bed.
Photo 15. Cascading white orchids attached to natural wood supports inside the greenhouse.
Photo 16. A close view of large pink orchid blooms set against green leaves and weathered wood.
Photo 17. Dense clusters of bright purple orchids arranged beneath the greenhouse framework.
Photo 18. The exterior of the geodesic Orchidarium surrounded by flowering plants, cultivated beds, and open highland scenery.
Photo 19. A landscaped garden slope filled with blue hydrangea blooms and mixed green foliage.

That contrast became one of the pleasures of the visit. After the noise and movement of the rides, walking among the orchids gave us time to slow down, notice small details, and enjoy the quieter side of the farm.

For the group, the visit created a natural transition from active recreation to a slower walk through the landscaped area.

Farm Tour

Our farm tour, from approximately 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., allowed us to explore more of the destination rather than restricting the visit to individual rides.

As the tour continued, the highland landscape became as memorable as the attractions themselves.

Rainbow Slide

Next came one of the farm’s most visually distinctive attractions: the Rainbow Slide.

Photo 22. A long multicolored slide descending a landscaped hillside, bordered by artificial grass and tropical vegetation.
Photo 23. A second view of the Rainbow Slide showing its full incline, bright color bands, and hillside setting.

The experience was simple and playful: climb to the top, take in the hillside view, and descend along the multicolored slide.

The Rainbow Slide added a light recreational activity to the group’s visit. .

Glamping and Overnight Accommodation

We also saw the glamping domes during the tour, although our itinerary was limited to a daytime visit.

Our itinerary was limited to a daytime visit, so we did not stay in the glamping accommodation.

The domes added another visual feature to the grounds and suggested a different way to experience the highland setting.

Lunch at Harper’s Bistro

After the morning activities, the group stopped for lunch.

We stopped for lunch at Harper’s Bistro, where a proper meal gave us the break we needed after an active morning.

Photo 25. Our shared lunch included fish, vegetables, crispy bites, and soup.
Photo 26. Crispy seafood, steamed rice, and a fresh cucumber-and-carrot garnish.
Photo 27. Stir-fried noodles with vegetables and calamansi completed the meal.

Sharing a meal also became part of the group experience.

Unlike a scheduled workday lunch, the meal allowed more time for informal conversation in a setting outside the workplace.

The outing gave the team time to interact beyond routine workplace activities.

Final Stop at Claveria View Deck

After leaving Hiraya, the group continued to Claveria View Deck.

After lunch, we continued to the Claveria View Deck, where we spent time walking around and enjoying the scenery before beginning our journey home.

Photo 31. Mountain scenery framed by greenery and clouds.
Photo 32. A wider view of the surrounding mountains and open sky.

After the movement and excitement of Hiraya, the View Deck offered almost the opposite experience.

The stop required no planned activity.

The group spent time viewing the surrounding landscape.

The view included mountains, greenery, open sky, and the wider Claveria landscape, providing a quiet conclusion to the day.

Reflections on the Visit

Looking back, what stays with me is not one particular ride.

It is the combination of experiences.

The rumble of an ATV over uneven ground.

The anticipation at the top of the Rainbow Slide.

The slower walk through the Orchidarium.

The open countryside seen during the farm tour.

A satisfying lunch after hours of activity.

And finally, the mountain scenery from Claveria View Deck.

But underneath all of those memories was something more important: we experienced them together.

A team is usually defined by what its members accomplish together. Yet occasionally, stepping away from the demands of work can remind us that teamwork is also built through shared human experiences: travelling together, eating together, laughing at unexpected moments and discovering places together.

Our April 9 holiday gave us exactly that opportunity.

Conclusion

Hiraya Farm Escape brought together the parts of the day we enjoyed most: open scenery, shared activities, good food, and unhurried time with colleagues.

For our Consultant Team, however, the value of the trip cannot be reduced to a list of attractions.

The visit provided a pause from routine work responsibilities.

It created time away from normal schedules,

day-to-day responsibilities,

and the usual professional setting.

We travelled back after our final stop at the View Deck carrying photographs, stories and memories from the day.

The value of the visit came from the combination of activities, landscape, and shared time.

Although the trip lasted only a day, it provided photographs and shared memories that extended beyond the visit.

The trip showed that a memorable day outdoors can be found within driving distance of home, along the highland roads of Claveria.

For our group, Hiraya Farm Escape was the main destination of the April holiday visit.
