Women Vs. Society

Women. Once seen as goddesses in ancient greece centuries ago, and now seen as objects. How would YOU define a real woman. Does it all come down to what's in her pants? or If she's very well "behaved" or my favorite, hairless. Must not have any hair on her arms, back, chin, and god forbid let there be a spec of hair on her legs. It's so unlady like for a woman to be loud. To get a little dirty. To not provide the needs her husband longs for. Women are treated so badly... but for what? Without us where would the world be today?

You see women are expected to do so much, yet so little. Us women have to learn to cook for our families, to clean up after them, to do their laundry, to do the shopping, and so much more. Yet we can not be messy. We can't show a little skin or we are a slut, cow, pig, whore, skank, and a bad role model to young little girls. We must be perfect at all times. no matter the circumstance. If our partner cheated its automatically our fault. We should've tried to look more presentable for them. We shouldn't of had been to comfortable with them.

Why is it ok for men to flaunt their body hair. They can let their armpit hair grow all the way down to their ribs, with sweat drops hanging by a hair and their leg hair can wrap around their legs like vines and it's ok, but if a woman were to do that she is a disgusting. Women were blessed with breast that feed our children and it's somehow so sexualized to the point where we can't even show our nipples without it getting censored, but what's so different about a man's nipples? A woman can go out topless but as long as her nipples are covered by putting an X of black tape its ok. Yet men can do anything and still get away with it.

If a woman shows off her nipples in the slightest she is obscene, indecent, and lewd. It's so bizarre that women's nipples have been fetishized, and the censorship of female nipples gets to the point where the body is being seen only as a sexual object. On instagram its community guidelines states "Some photos of female nipples are not allowed" but a mans? go ahead and grab a selfie stick because you guys are off the roster!

Women are tired of the sexualizing, the dirty comments, the stereotypes, the gender discrimination, the gender pay gap, the harassment, and lack of education. Did you know in a US study it was shown that men were predominantly paid more than woman? And did you also know that around 81 percent of woman had experienced some sort of sexual harassment. 81 percent. 1 in 4 women have been sexually harassed between the ages 15-24.

Which brings me to the wondering question, What defines a real woman? A woman is someone who is strong, brave, beautiful, bold, authentic, and independant. We come in all different shapes, colors, cultures, and are so very unique. Us women have been fighting for our rights since the very beginning, and just recently we have been losing our rights. It is so strange how men... MEN get to decide what we can or can not do with our own bodies, and even MORE strange that other women took that right from other women too. For all the women out there reading this, you are powerful and don't let anybody take your power.
