INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

International Women’s day is Celebrated on the 8th of March every year.Women's day is

celebrated to commend the accomplishments of women all across the world in various

fields..This day is dedicated to celebrating women’s achievements in the social, economic,

cultural, and political spheres. The day also emphasises on equality in gender and the rights that

women deserve. Through years, women and men have been compared on various grounds like

income, education and social grounds etc.and they have proved to be better in every field.Global

Women's Day praises the strength of women and their accomplishments in all spheres.

Dreams with ambitions, lead with conviction and see yourselves in a way that others may

not, simply because they have never seen it before.

The empowerment and autonomy of women and the improvement of their political, social,

economic and health status is a highly important end in itself. There is no tool more effective

than empowerment of women.

In most regions of the world, women receive less formal education than men, and at the same

time, women own knowledge, abilities and coping mechanisms often go unrecognized.

Girls face barriers to education caused by poverty, socio-cultural norms and practices, poor

infrastructure, violence and fragility.

Girls education is a strategic development priority for the World,it goes beyond getting girls into

school and about ensuring that girls learn and feel safe while in school and have the opportunity

to complete all levels of education acquiring the knowledge and skills to compete.

Learn the socio-emotional and life skills necessary to navigate and adapt to a changing world;

make decisions about their own lives; and contribute to their communities and the world.

Better educated women tend to be more informed about their surroundings, nutrition and

healthcare.

All these factors combined can help uplift households, communities, and countries out of

poverty.Poverty, child marriage and violence also hinders the education accessing process of

girls

Various groups are now collaborating with governments, civil society organizations, multilateral

organizations, the private sector, and donors to advance multi-sectoral approaches to overcome

these challenges.

COVID-19 is having a negative impact on women's health and well-being – and many are at risk

of not returning to school once they reopen.

Available research shows that prevalence of violence against girls and women has increased

during the pandemic – jeopardizing their health, safety and overall well-being.

Women of the world want and deserve an equal future for all which should be free from stigma,

stereotypes and violence; a future that’s sustainable, peaceful, with equal rights andopportunities for all. To get us there, the world needs women at every table where important

decisions are being made, and this is possible only when they are educated so women

education is the top most priority as they constitute half of the total population.

The woman in herself has the power to create, nurture and transform.

Women are working to provide support at the front lines of the fight against this pandemic

promoting flexible working arrangements, and prioritizing services. We are celebrating

tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and

recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the gaps that remain.

Women’s full and effective participation and leadership in all areas of life drives progress for

everyone.Yet, women are still underrepresented in public life and decision-making, as revealed

in the UN Secretary-General’s recent report.

Women are also at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19, as front-line and health sector

workers, as scientists, doctors and caregivers, yet they get paid less globally than their male

counterparts. When women lead, we see positive results. Some of the most efficient and

exemplary responses to the COVID-19 pandemic were led by women. And women, especially

young women, are at the forefront of diverse and inclusive movements online and on the streets

for social justice, climate change and equality in all parts of the world.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is Generation Equality, to act for an equal future

for all, thus creating a better world.Lets keep going until every woman and girl have the

opportunity she deserves to have.

“When you educate a man,you educate a man.but when you educate a woman you

educate an entire generation”
