The remarkable nation of Australia is an outstanding destination for a getaway be it for solo travellers, couples or families. Vast in size and incredibly diverse, it is home to vibrant cities, attractive beaches, impressive mountain ranges, dense rainforests and much more to discover. As this country would feature varied climates and conditions, it would be important to pack carefully for your vacation here. Provided below are some suggestions for packing for an exciting holiday Down Under.

Take suitable luggage, a water bottle and sunscreen

Visitors to Australia should keep in mind that there would often be luggage limits when joining tours and trips in this country and hard cases may not be accepted. Additionally, transporting freight across the country would also be expensive. Therefore, you should be careful with your luggage, and preferably take along a moderately sized suitcase or duffel bag for your travels.

Another useful item to take along would be a refillable water bottle. You would find that tap water would be safe to drink in Australia, meaning that you could contribute to conserving the environment by using a reusable bottle. One should also not forget to take sunscreen with a suitably high SPF rating as the sun's rays would be rather strong here.

Pack sunglasses, layers of clothes and a power bank

In sunny Australia, you would undoubtedly need a good pair of sunglasses offering UV protection so that you would be comfortable and able to take in stunning views. As you might expect, you would need layers of clothes in this country, as the days could often be warm whilst the evenings could be rather chilly depending on the season. Make sure to take a jacket, sweater and beanie cap along with your summer wear. Another useful item would be a powerful power bank so that you could operate your digital devices even whilst amid the outback.

Bring a sleeping bag (for camping), insect repellent and a dry bag

If you plan to go camping during your visit to Australia – which is likely to be an entrancing experience – you would need a comfortable sleeping bag. As nights could be chilly in this country, a snug sleeping bag would be a great asset. Another item that you shouldn’t forget would be an effective insect repellent; you would need it to evade the various bugs when outdoors. Meanwhile, a dry bag would come in handy to keep your valuables, wallet and electronics such as your phone and camera safe and dry in wet environments like rivers, waterholes or at sea.

Remember your swimwear and towel

You should also make sure to pack your swimwear as no visit to Australia would be complete without taking a dip in the ocean waters! There would be coastal hotspots like the Gold Coast in Queensland where you could enjoy everything from relaxation at idyllic beaches to exciting water sports including surfing. One of the hotels in Gold Coast, Australia to consider where you could base yourself to enjoy such beachside bliss would be Avani Broadbeach Residences.

It would additionally be a good idea to bring a couple of rapidly-drying towels on your trip to Australia; you could use one after showers (if you are not staying at a hotel) and the other after swims at beaches, lakes, waterholes and so on.

Don’t forget versatile footwear and a torch

A great choice of footwear for your adventures here would be a pair that would be comfortable and could also be worn in swimming holes and rock pools; velcro sandals would be a prudent choice. If you plan to enjoy outdoor escapades, you are likely to find that a torch would be indispensable during your adventures in Australia. For instance, if you happen to be camping in the outback and need to answer a call of nature at night, you would find that a reliable torch would be quite handy!
