Ranked among Vietnam's most breathtaking holiday destinations, Quy Nhon is a charming vacation hub that offers visitors the best of both worlds. Lined with white, sandy beaches and towering mountains, this sunny corner of the country is the perfect short-stay hotspot for those exploring Vietnam. From exploring local culinary delights to hitting the recreational attractions that have made Quy Nhon famous, here's what you can get up to in this dynamic location in 48 hours.

Find a Convenient Base

Those who are heading to Quy Nhon for a weekend or a brief time period must find a strategic base hotel. Although there are a large number of Vietnam beach resorts to choose from, not all of these establishments occupy beachfront locations nor offer easy access to the area's top highlights and activity bases. This is why it is crucial to choose a resort that's conveniently located by the ocean, whether it's the Avani Quy Nhon Resort or any other rest. If you cannot secure such a resort due to budgetary or availability reasons, the next best option is to stay at a hotel close to local transport hubs, as time will be of the essence on a 48-hour trip to Quy Nhon.

Day One - Morning

It is crucial to start your first day in the beach paradise with a hearty and traditional Vietnamese breakfast from a street vendor or a local restaurant in Quy Nhon. Some of the best dishes to grab for breakfast include Bánh Canh Chả Cá and Bún Cá Phượng Tèo, which are both soupy rice noodle dishes that are inexpensive but delicious. After the meal, one can head out to Ky Co Beach to enjoy some quality beach time. As one of Quy Nhon's most visually arresting beaches, this area features a crescent-shaped beach that faces mountains on three sides. Ideal for swimming and other water sports activities, you can happily splash around Ky Co until lunchtime. Leng Keng 2 and Huong Duong, and Hoang Thao are great options for a lunch venue, as these fantastic seafood restaurants are located nearby.

Day One - Afternoon/Evening

Travel down to Eo Gio in Nhon Ly to spend time on one of the most idyllic beaches in all of Vietnam. Home to more than nineteen bird caves, this beach surrounded by mountains is a geographical anomaly that must be seen to be believed. After sundown, head over to the Ngoc Hoa Monastery to pay homage to one of the area's Buddhist sanctuaries. Known for its architecture, the monastery harks back to a past era. Order some Bánh Xèo Tôm Nhảy or Dancing Shrimp Pancake for dinner before heading back to the hotel to call it a night.

Day Two - Morning

Wake up bright and early to enjoy your last day in Quy Nhon, and walk over to a local cafe to grab a cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee. Finish off breakfast with some Shrimp Vermicelli from the My Hanh restaurant before hopping on a boat to tour Xuan Hai Fishing Village and Cu Lao Xanh Island. The sea journey to the island is an adventure in itself, but the main reason tourists head to Cu Lao Xanh Island is to experience its water sports activities. Don't forget to pop by the Xuan Hai fishing village for a fresh seafood lunch prepared in front of you by a local aqua farm before heading back into Quy Nhon on an equally enchanting boat ride.

Day Two - Afternoon/Evening

Located less than 8km away from the heart of Quy Nhon City lies Seagate, one of the region's finest theme parks and leisure hotspots where one can spend hours, if not days, engaging in hikes, swimming and other activities. Before heading back to the hotel to pack, it is imperative to stop by Han Mac Tu's Poetry Garden.
