Help Me Build A Bridge 🖤

For the past two to three years, my life has been a constant lesson in rebuilding.

I’m a young mother trying to create stability for myself and my children while also figuring out who I am, what I believe, and what I want my life to become. There have been times when I felt like I was starting over completely. Financially, emotionally, creatively, and spiritually, I have had to learn how to depend on myself while carrying responsibilities bigger than me.

Right now, I am in a particularly difficult financial situation. I am behind on my rent, and my electricity has been shut off. I am still working, but trying to keep up with everyday expenses while raising children has become extremely difficult. I don’t have a perfect safety net waiting for me. I’m trying to climb out of this situation while simultaneously figuring out how to build a future that doesn’t constantly feel like survival.

And I’m writing this entire entry from my phone.

That might seem like a small detail, but to me, it represents where I am right now. I don’t have everything I need. I don’t have a fancy setup, a computer, or a comfortable office where I can sit and write. I have an idea, a phone, and a desire to turn my experiences into something meaningful.

For the last few years, I’ve worked different jobs, including delivery work and customer-service positions,  a hotel. I’ve worked long shifts and overnight hours while also being a mother. There have been days when I’ve been completely exhausted, but I still showed up because I know my children depend on me.

My financial goals aren’t extravagant. I want to catch up on my rent. I want to get my electricity turned back on. I want reliable transportation. I want savings. I want a safe and comfortable home for my children. Eventually, I want enough financial freedom that an unexpected expense doesn’t completely destroy the stability I’ve worked so hard to create.

I also want to build something of my own.

Over the past few years, I’ve explored different career paths and interests, including cosmetology, real estate, house flipping, customer service, journalism, modeling, writing, and content creation. I know that may sound like I’m constantly changing directions, but I see it as searching for the place where my creativity and abilities can actually become sustainable.

Writing has become one of the biggest ways I process my experiences. I’ve been working on stories, personal essays, spiritual writing, and ideas surrounding healing, trauma, human behavior, society, and the entertainment industry. I want to talk about subjects that people sometimes overlook. I want my experiences to become something that can make another person feel less alone.

My spirituality has also become a huge part of my journey. I’ve spent the past few years becoming more interested in intuition, numerology, astrology, symbolism, energy, self-reflection, and spiritual healing. I don’t believe I have everything figured out. If anything, spirituality has taught me that I have more to learn than I ever realized.

I’ve learned that spirituality isn’t simply about seeing repeating numbers or looking for signs. Sometimes the most important spiritual work is looking at yourself honestly. It’s learning accountability, practicing gratitude, recognizing destructive patterns, developing emotional discipline, and choosing not to repeat cycles simply because they’re familiar.

Motherhood has made that lesson even more important.

I want my children to see me build something. I want them to know that struggling doesn’t mean you’re destined to remain stuck. I want them to see that you can start with almost nothing—a phone, an idea, and determination—and still try.

That’s why support through Vocal Media would mean more to me than people might realize. A tip isn’t just a few dollars to me right now. It could help me put something toward my overdue rent, restore my electricity, buy necessities for my children, or simply give me enough breathing room to keep moving forward.

I’m not writing this because I expect strangers to rescue me.

I’m writing because I’m trying to build.

I’m writing this on my phone because that’s what I have. I’m writing while dealing with financial stress because I refuse to let being in a difficult chapter convince me that my story is over.

Every article, every story, every idea, and every lesson is another brick.

I’m trying to turn everything I’ve lived through into something meaningful—and hopefully, into something that can eventually create the financial freedom I’ve been working toward for years
