From Level One to Level Up
A real life guide to cooking, fitness, and starting over from scratch

For years now, many people have told me that I should write down some of my recipes, start a YouTube channel, and launch other social media accounts just to post my recipes, tips, and tricks.
So, I guess the food I make is really good! But it wasn't always easy, and there was a lot of learning involved to master certain things. Still, the basics of cooking are something that every person on the planet should know. And it's not hard!
Well, I decided to give it a go. I want to see if people actually like my posts, tips, and cooking style, but I also want to keep it simple and friendly for beginners. Even more so, I want to dedicate my writing to people who are just starting out.
I began cooking when I was 16. My mom and I lived alone, and she worked a lot. I felt sorry for her; it became ridiculous to wait for her to come home from work, exhausted, only to walk straight through the door and into the kitchen to cook. She didn't do it because she wanted to, but because she felt obligated because her kid was hungry. We all know what mothers are like, right? But then I thought to myself: If I am not making money and I provide nothing else to help my mom out, couldn't I at least learn how to cook?
The first meal I ever made by myself was oven roasted chicken and potatoes, along with a vegetable soup. It was simple and delicious, but the best part of it all was the expression on my mother's face and her reaction afterward.
So, I will be writing for young people who plan on living without their parents, maybe leaving for college or just moving out to start a life on their own. And you don't necessarily have to be young; whatever brought you here, I believe it shows you are interested in cooking, and that's great.
There are other things I want to write about too: a healthy diet, weight loss, fasting, and training.
Having been an overweight person for most of my life, I managed to learn a lot about food and how to eat properly. Five years ago, I weighed around 130 kilograms. Within a year, I changed all my habits and my daily routine, and my body weight dropped from 130 to 88 kilograms. Just like that. It was much easier than I thought it would be, and that's something I would love to write about in much greater detail.

While on my weight loss journey, I learned a lot about tracking fat, carbs, and protein. I learned the truth about losing weight and dismantled all the wrong ideas I used to have about weight training, going to the gym, and eating healthy.
I will write about this as a person who went through it all personally, not as a doctor or a scientist, because I am neither. But I do believe that personal experience, especially when you have proof that it works, is incredibly valuable. So many people out there talk about things in theory rather than how they actually work in real life.
If you look at my Vocal Media profile, you'll see that until now, I wrote exclusively about video games, because video games are what I love most. As you know, most gamers spend their time on the couch or in a gaming chair, and generally speaking, they don't move around much. Some do, yes, but many lead a very unhealthy lifestyle. Combined with a job I held for 10 years as a security officer, you can imagine how little movement I actually got. So, if a person like me could do it, anyone can.
Last but not least, I will also write about mentality, mindset, emotions, and the things that are helping me get back on track right now. I recently went through a phase in my life, followed by an injury, that basically brought me right back to where I started at 125 kilograms. But now, I see that as a perfect opportunity to document my progression and write about it as it happens. It will help people realize that what I am talking about is true and that it really works.
From personal experience, I know how hard it can be to fight against mental health struggles, and how they can destroy your motivation and make everything look dreadful and impossible. I understand internal struggles and the things people go through. I went through tough times myself, for much longer than I ever thought I could.
Everything I write will be about how to get better, at cooking, training, changing habits, weight loss, and mental health.
So, think of me as a new friend who simply wants to help you in any way he can!
I hope this is the beginning of something great, and I hope the content I create reaches and helps many people.
