There is a region of the United States that literally stretches as a massive metropolis for two states: North Carolina and South Carolina! This region is known as the Charlotte metropolitan area, but you can also call it Metrolina for short if you want to go for a shorter name. This region is a major metropolitan area that is centered around one major core city - the city of Charlotte, NC - and it is a massive metro area that takes up about three thousand one hundred ninety-eight square miles of area, with most of it being land but forty-nine square miles of the region is water. It is a large region for a lot of people to live in and, according to the 2022 estimates, Metrolina is the twenty-third largest metropolitan area in the entire United States, with over two million seven hundred fifty-six thousand!

The GDP of this metro area is $228.9 billion US Dollars, making the amount of money in Gross Domestic Product for the region slightly higher than the nominal GDP of the nation of Algeria at 239.91 billion US dollars! It is also one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the whole US in terms of both population and overall business.

What is the secret for this particular metro area growing in terms of success and finance? Well, one of the reasons is the financial companies that can be found there. The Charlotte metro area is only second in the United States to New York City as a major financial hub. Do you or any friends or family of yours in this metro need to go to a bank? Well, you can go to Bank of America since it is headquartered in this area! You can also find the headquarters for Truist Financial - an American bank holding company with over two thousand branches around the United States! Want something more local like a credit union? Well, you can go to Truliant Federal, Blue Flame Credit Union, or one of the other local financial institutions.

This area is also a good place for getting an education and multiple institutions exist for you to learn! You can head to Davison College, Winthrop University, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Wingate University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, Gardner-Webb University, Central Piedmont Community College, the Hickory campus of Appalachian State University, or any of the many other colleges in this area!

To get here, you can get there by car from the continental US or by plane at Charlotte Douglas International Airport - the seventh busiest airport in the world! You can also get to this region through one of the smaller airports like the Charlotte–Monroe Executive Airport, Mid-Carolina Regional Airport, Concord-Padgett Regional Airport, Hickory Regional Airport, Lancaster County Airport, or any of the other smaller public-use airports that can be found there.
