10 Feminist Jokes That Will Have You LOLing

Love a good laugh, but want to avoid "woman jokes?" These feminist jokes will prove that equality can be hilarious.

Everyone and their grandmother knows at least one politically-incorrect joke. It's almost expected of you to know more than that, and tell them at least once. This strange but true fact of life brings me to my next point: most people assume people who are vested in equality have no sense of humor.

Though we might have a bit of a reputation for being humorless, reality couldn't be further from the truth. These feminist jokes are proof that you can crack a smile while being interested in gender equality.

"How many trans people does it take to change a lightbulb? Literally one, while everyone around them is telling them to slow down and wait a bit first."

Speaking as a transperson, I definitely will say that trans people could use more feminist support. That being said, the fact that this joke points out the inequality transpeople face when they are just trying to become the gender they want to be makes it one of the most poignant feminist jokes out there.

"Damn boy, are you a bra? Because you make me uncomfortable but society brainwashed me into thinking I need you."

Bras are not necessary. Boys aren't necessary. Both are uncomfortable, to say the least. Feel free to laugh, but it's totally the truth.

Then, there's this gem about Bing versus Google, proving that feminist jokes can also be pretty sick tech jokes.

"Google is definitely a woman. It makes suggestions before you even finish what you're trying to say."

"Then Bing is definitely a man, since it tries to convince everyone that it's superior while it does a horrible job of pleasing users."

"The few days before your period where you're so aware of your boobs you feel like you were written by a male author."

A lot of readers can tell you that men who write fiction have a tendency to focus in on female characters' bodies more than they do their personalities or thoughts. As a result, they end up making stories that involve women who are little more than floating boobs.

If you've ever had tender breasts, you already know how hard it is to ignore your boobs right before Aunt Flo visits—and will understand why this is one of the funniest feminist jokes out there.

"I don't have a resting bitch face. My bitch face is always on duty, ever vigilant. My bitch face will rest when its work is done."

For reasons unbeknownst to me, many men seem to think that women have to smile constantly and be totally happy doing little more than existing while smiling. Tired of being told to smile?

Next time you're accused of having Resting Bitch Face, use this gem. It's a nice little way to get assertive about women's rights and also get snarky with guys asking you to smile.

"After losing an arm wrestling match, my boyfriend told me I was going to make him 'cry like a girl.' I asked him what was wrong with being a girl. He looked at me and said, 'The social standards.'"

Women are typically considered to be the weaker, more emotional gender—but why? They often have to do the majority of the housework, childcare, and also are now expected to hold down a job. They also are expected to look pretty, be jovial, and more.

As far as feminist jokes go, this one's pretty on point.

"#NotAllMen is absolutely right. The Babadook would never do this."

If you've watched the Babadook, then you already know that the Babadook is a scary man-monster thing that just stalks people and lingers around them. Eventually, you end up learning to live with the monster. The Babadook would never do anything wrong, right?

"Did I ever tell you how I met your father? I walked past him and he shouted, 'OH YOU JUST GONNA WALK PAST ME? YOU DEAF, BITCH?' and I just knew."

Catcalling and the experience following it sucks. There's really no point to it, and for some reason, there's a good amount of men who think that women actually like it.

I really wish more people understood how unattractive this is. This is one of the many feminist jokes that points out how ridiculous that belief really is, and for that, we can all chuckle.

"This computer's mouse is so sensitive it's like, what are you, a white straight guy being asked to admit that the system benefits you?"

#MasculinitySoFragile, amirite? Though some might find this to be one of the more tasteless feminist jokes on this list, it's hard to ignore the sheer number of men who can't admit that they are unfairly benefiting from a system that regularly harms women and transpeople.

I mean, it's not like individual men are at fault or that we're blaming one particular guy. We just wish guys would admit the truth and help us go towards a more egalitarian world. Feminismisn't a dirty word.

"How many feminists does it take to change a lightbulb?" "None. You don't need lightbulbs when you have a glass ceiling."

Ouch, but true. The glass ceiling is very real, and can be very prohibitive to women who want to live on their own. Though this is one of the darker feminist jokes on this list, it's still a pretty good one to chuckle at.

You know, in a sad way.

That being said, we can't empower strong feminists without confronting the issues holding them back head-on.
