Dec. 5-11

Maddy Siegrist - Villanova

After a rough start averaging 10.5 points making 10 of her first 32 shots of the season Maddy Siegrist played just two games before returning to have her best game of the season. She led Villanova to a 76-67 win over James Madison on Dec. 9, with a monstrous performance. She scored 36 points with 17 rebounds. The 6-1 junior forward shot 50 percent nailing half of her 26 shots. Last season she averaged 23.3 points and 10.3 rebounds and shot 48 percent from the field.

Teisha Hyman - Syracuse

Teisha Hyman led Syracuse to three wins last week. She started off with her best game of the week against Central Connecticut scoring 27 points with 15 assists and 11 steals to post a triple-double. In that game she shot 10-12 overall and 5-5 from the free-throw line. Against Cornell, Hyman scored 11 points with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. In her final game of the week, the 5-8 junior guard had eight points, nine assists and six rebounds in a victory over Clemson.

Madi Williams - Oklahoma

BYU was unbeaten until it faced Madi Williams and the Oklahoma Sooners. Williams led her team with 25 points, 14 rebounds and four assists in the 99-91 home win. She also connected on three 0f her seven three-point attempts. Her 42 percent performance from three ended a horrid three-game stretch where she had made just one of eight attempts from long distance. She has recorded three straight double-doubles going back to Dec. 4. Williams is averaging 17.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game after her first 10 games of the season.

Lauren Park-Lane - Seton Hall

A 5-6 junior, Lauren Park-Lane put up strong numbers last week. She scored 23 points with seven assists and just one turnover in a loss to St. John's. After that her team ended its two-game slide with a win over Princeton. Park-Lane scored 20 points on a season best 63 percent from the field, as she shot 7-11. She had nine assists and a season high four steals as well. These two games is the first time she shot over 40 percent in back-to-back games all season

Danielle Patterson - St. John's

A Brooklyn native and senior, Danielle Patterson posted two double-doubles that resulted in wins for St. John's last week. She scored 16 points and grabbed 10 boards with two steals in a 13-point win over Seton Hall. The next game against La Salle, Patterson posted a season high 17 boards, while scoring 14 points with two blocked shots and one steal. Patterson started her collegiate career with Notre Dame before playing for Indiana. She has never averaged more than three points per game until this season where she entered Saturday's contest with an average of 11.3 points per game.

Jaia Alexander - Coppin State

Jaia Alexander has recorded some quality performances this season. The 5-11 guard overcame a tough loss to Pitt where she scored 16 points on just 5-18 shooting, along with nine rebounds, with a win over St. Peter's. Against St. Peter's she scored 21 points and grabbed a season's best 16 rebounds. Alexanders also dished out three assists and blocked three shots. She has had four games with at least 20 points this season, including a 30-point performance at the start of the season.

Ioanna Krimili - San Francisco

Ioanna Krimili shot 10-21 from three in two games last week. She scored 29 points shooting 6-14 from long distance in a win over USC. She also made all five of her free-throws in that game as she dished out a season high five assists. Her next game was a loss to Cal State Fullerton, but in that game she scored 19 points and connected on four of seven three-point attempts.

Aneesah Morrow - DePaul

DePaul's Aneesah Morrow is in the lead for Freshman of the Year honors. She is averaging 18.2 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. The 6-1 forward from Chicago scored 24 points, 19 rebounds, four steals and two blocks against Xavier, Dec. 5. Four days later Morrow scored 18 points with 17 rebounds against Kentucky. Her team won both games and is now 8-2 to start the season.
