This is hard to grasp as WWE just held its highest-grossing WrestleMania event of all time, and twenty-four hours later the ratings have plummeted all because of one person-Vince McMahon. You know the same maniacal and power-hungry owner that paid with company money to keep his sexual harassment allegations hush-hush for years. The same man that used to say on live television, that he doesn’t give a damn what the WWE Universe wants.

That’s just ‘kayfabe’ right, certainly, the CEO of the company couldn’t actually mean what he said. You are so stupid because if you look back throughout the years, you can clearly see the writing on the walls. I’d love to say this disappointment started recently but, sadly it goes so far back in time. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk dropped his infamous pipe bomb promo stating that WWE was in horrible hands now and going forward. Punk you were right by calling out the delusional old man for not giving a crap about what the audience wanted. Bravo to you for speaking the truth on national television.

For years, the WWE Universe, myself included, has had to sit back and pay money to watch programming that we couldn’t have cared less about. Why, because McMahon wants a certain ‘prototype’ Yup I’m talking about you Mr. Cena to be the top guy in WWE. Oh, man don’t get me wrong, John Cena has been great over the years. He’s played his role to perfection but did the poster boy of the company really have to bury The Nexus? All ten or eleven NXT rookies were hungry and waiting anxiously to make their big statement by taking out Cena.

Their momentum was quickly depleted after SummerSlam when team WWE beat them. Why, well because McMahon didn’t listen to the fans. It’s ironic that I bring up NXT because that’s where most of the problems come from, Triple H’s developmental brand that single-handedly beat Raw and SmackDown for years. The black and gold brand was built around superstars from all around the world including Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Tyler Breeze, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, etc. The storytelling and deep thoughts behind feuds and matches were brilliantly executed on fascinating television and TakeOver events that reignited a passion for wrestling like never before.

Geez, thinking back to the old days of NXT also brings up the amazing high-octane, high-flying, and jaw-dropping Cruiserweight Classic tournament that blew the WWE Universe’s minds. Go back and watch dozens of wrestlers all over the globe demonstrate their talents and hone their craft in such an amazing manner. What happened with all these amazing cruiserweights when McMahon got a hold of them? They were relegated to shitty storylines interwoven with matches nobody cared about on the pre-show. It wasn’t until HHH was given creative control of 205 Live, that the cruiserweight division actually meant something again. I remember doing a weekly recap of the show because it was so entertaining.

Countless NXT talent has made their main-roster debut only to be squandered, or just written out of the company altogether including Tyler Breeze, The Ascension, Neville, Buddy Murphy, Tye Dillinger-I can go on-and-on about this list all because of one person. In 2014, Daniel Bryan was white-hot and gaining appreciation from the crowd week in and week out and it took CM Punk walking out to putting him into the world title picture. Even then, McMahon didn’t really listen to the WWE Universe because just like he said “he doesn’t care.” Since 2014, McMahon has shoved Roman Reigns down our throats as “The Guy” Why, because he’s a big strong man with charisma and a character he wants to be the face of this company?

In that same year another former NXT superstar was making his way up the ladder in the company, Bray Wyatt. ‘The Eater of Worlds’ was being positioned as the next supernatural force within the WWE, and how do you cement your legacy in the company? You do that by beating one of the biggest superstars in WWE history, John Cena on the Grandest Stage of Them All. All the signs pointed towards Wyatt winning and making his mark but, McMahon wanted his golden boy to win the match. After that defeat, Wyatt lost all momentum and meaningful direction for his character which ultimately left to his release (we’ll get to that later.)

Reigns was McMahon’s favorite alongside good ole Johnny boy who would defeat essentially anyone in his path. If you don’t believe me, go back and see how freaking hot the WWE Universe was for Braun Strowman back in 2017 when Brock Lesnar was the Universal Champion. ‘The Monster Among Men’ was red-hot and all McMahon had to do was pull the plug and give him the title, and Strowman would have been a made man. He didn’t do that though, McMahon held on for over a year through distasteful chants and angry fans to crown Reigns the champion. The boss was so ignorant he swerved the fans by thinking Strowman was going to cash-in his money in the bank briefcase during the Lesnar/Roman match at SummerSlam just to force us to watch Reigns win the championship.

Let’s fast forward to 2019, when Daniel Bryan was the WWE Champion and the crowd was fully getting behind a well-deserving talent Kofi Kingston. A true workhorse of the company who was placed in the mid card level a decade ago. Who could ever forget how many times McMahon pulled the rug out from under his feet? Yes, he did win the title at WrestleMania 35, but that doesn’t take away the fact that the WWE Universe as a whole had to voice their opinions for months. Time and time again, we’ve had to endure McMahon not giving a crap what the audience actually wants.

After Wyatt had years of mistreatment and terrible character growth, he came up with one of the most-mesmerizing and entertaining persona’s in history-The Fiend. The Fiend was an abomination made from all of Wyatt’s previous failures and disappointments over the years within the WWE.

So here comes SummerSlam 2019, and The Fiend finally makes his long-awaited debut against Finn Balor. Immediately after the crowd heard his song and witnessed his entrance they were chanting “Holy Shit” before the match even started. Everyone loved the monster and what does McMahon do, let’s push him into the Universal title picture. Instead of actually giving him the title though, let’s just have Wyatt kick out of dozens of Curb Stomps, finishers and get buried under rubble. On top of that, let’s have the Hell in a Cell match where you have to win by pinfall or submission end in a referee stoppage. You seriously can’t make this crap up lol. It was horrible booking done by who?

Wyatt would lose all credibility and all his momentum and eventually would win the title in Saudi Arabia but nobody cared at that point. He would get squashed by a hall of famer Goldberg in the same place the following year. Why, because Fuck ‘em that’s why! No matter what the situation or the parties involved, McMahon does what he wants. Here we go again folks after a freaking amazing WrestleMania weekend, McMahon has taken over creative yet again.

Even after telling the new owners of the company Endeavor that he would not be in the woods, McMahon rewrote essentially the whole show on Monday night. I can’t even begin to describe to you how the attitudes of wrestling fans have changed within only 48 hours. The WWE Universe went from wow this was amazing and HHH is doing a great job telling stories and creating magic, to oh shit not again…We’ve already done this and it didn’t work. The stories sucked, the matches were awful. On McMahon’s first night back, on the Raw after Mania a three hour show only had thirty minutes of actual wrestling. WTH!

Over the past ten months, HHH has made WWE fun again and the morale was through the roof and now it’s back to shit again. I’m about to go back to watching only the segments I care about and skipping half the show because of how dreadful it will be. So on behalf of me and a million other people in the WWE Universe just like when you changed the name from WWF to WWE Vince McMahon—GET THE F OUT!!!
