Moving Too Fast!
As the 2019 offseason begins around the National Football League, teams are preparing for the long and exciting season that is ahead of them. For many NFL organizations, like the Oakland Raiders and the New York Giants, the offseason has brought a tremendous amount of attention to the operations of their franchises. The scrambling of NFL front offices has had positive and negative effects on some teams and their locker rooms. After the firing of the New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan, head coach Adam Gase has had to answer the remaining questions from media outlets about the current condition of the Jets organization. The move to fire Maccagnan came after the signing of the former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell. Confused as to why the Jets front office decided to make personnel changes so late in the offseason, many fans are wondering if the New York Jets have enough potential to be an AFC wild card contender.

The University of Oregon football team changed the landscape of college football over the last 10 years. They set trends with many uniform combinations, fast-paced, no huddle football. The program was defined by Coach Chip Kelly, Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, and consistent winning. Being that football is a copycat sport, a lot of high school coaches tried to emulate this style, under the assumption that what works for a Pac-12 Powerhouse will help them win on Friday night.
Clark WozichPublished 5 years ago in UnbalancedIs Tyreek Hill Fit to Play in the NFL?
Repeat offender (at least to this writer’s principles) Tyreek Hill of the Kansas City Chiefs from the NFL has shown that it depends on the character of the person if second chances are worthy or will work. Recently, an audio was leaked of Hill being recorded by his fiancée, Crystal Espinal. That 11-minute audio was published by KCTV5 and recorded while Hill and Espinal were walking in Dubai International Airport. Even though the contents of the audio were shocking, it was also not very surprising given Hill’s past demonstration of his shallow character.

Not everyone can be a pro football player. Not everyone can become a college player. Not many play high school, even being a part of a high school team. It takes hard work and dedication just to have that first act of playing high school football to become a reality. Off the field you've got to hit the books and not fall to peer pressure. But on the field, you must let your talent speak for you. You got to have the mindset of a man working to feed yourself. You may play in different positions in any game. You may not play but a few games in a high school career.
Chris EldridgePublished 5 years ago in UnbalancedIs High Stakes Fantasy Football Different Than Low-Cost Leagues?
Fantasy football is incredibly popular, with tens of millions of people taking part each year. Many leagues are casual affairs where friends or coworkers simply play for fun, although they may have a small buy-in and play for money. There's a multitude of ways to play, from gaming out entire seasons to weekly contests. Some of these even operate year round, so you’re not just limited to the regular football season. Beginners and veterans alike can confidently enter the game with fantasy football draft kits and begin competing for cash or glory. Of course, both small and large money leagues contain the same risks as other forms of gambling, so proceeding with caution is advised.

Once upon a time the Legends Football League was a renegade type of sports brand. Occasional fights went viral online. Furious coaches and players cursing out their enemies, without shame, and wardrobe malfunctions were a part of an explosive game that grew in skill year-by-year.

Fantasy isn’t everything, I get it. Players want to get paid, coaches want insurance plans for players. But this is a fantasy article and I want to dive into some Free Agent signings that were not great for Fantasy, and some that were. Whether it be for the player or for players on the team, I’m taking into account the position players were in last year at the end of the season going into this season and comparing it the positions thy are in now.
Jack MillerPublished 5 years ago in UnbalancedCan Pittsburgh Survive the Cold Off-Season?
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been known to be the most dominant team to play on Sunday’s in the AFC North Division. Their symbolic steel curtain defense has won the hearts and souls of many football advocates across the American continent. To aid in their possessive type of scheme, the Steelers were one of the teams who has found a way to have a balanced offense as well. With the help of Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell and starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers have experienced more success than most NFL teams. After the long holdout of Le’Veon Bell, during the 2018 off-season, the Steelers have been facing a continuation of distractions, which ultimately showed in their on the field performances throughout the 2018 season.

The NFL off season has brought a flurry of drama. From teams signing and trading key players to Antonio Brown's exit from Pittsburgh, we haven't experienced a free agent and trade frenzy like this in quite some time in the NFL.
William RicksPublished 5 years ago in UnbalancedWhy "AB" to "Big D" Was Never Really a "Thing"
First off and before anything else is said, let's make this clear, Antonio Tavaris Brown is the best wide receiver in the NFL right now. Even at 30 years old, this is a fact, and with the way he plays the game, he should be that for at least the next three seasons. Perhaps, that's why the Raiders were so comfortable giving him three years of new money, 50 million potentially with a whopping 30 million dollars in new guarantees.
