Somers Arsenal Reaches Semifinals of US Club Soccer National Championship
The town of Somers couldn’t have asked for much more in the success that the FC 13U Girls Soccer team had in falling just short of the US Youth Soccer Nationals. But the fair sex having their say, the FC Somers Arsenal Boys (u17) weren’t quite done talking for the town, and a one goal first half deficit versus Eclipse Select Academy in the semifinals had the team in reach of a national championship.

If you know Jimmy Clark, you're not surprised when he responds to questions with a little playful sarcasm before coming back to how he really feels. In retirement, the exiting head coach is no different. “I couldn’t take it anymore,” he joked about his departure from John Jay. But Clark's actual reasons and feelings are about as sincere and heartfelt as it gets.
Rich MonettiPublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedWhat on earth are they doing? I’m blowed if I know, but they call it Rugby Union.
It’s so cold your fingers are stinging, you’d say it was pouring with rain except it’s coming in horizontally so you can barely see, you’re covered in mud, exhausted from an hour of intense physical and mental effort and you still have 20 minutes to go, and after all the rough impacts from the last hour, even your bruises have bruises. No, it’s not the entry course for the army special forces, it’s a game of rugby union and you love it, or you will once you’re back in the club-house with a beer/rum in hand.

Rich MonettiPublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedSuper Bowl LVI Recap: A Hollywood Ending
Super Bowl Sunday. Even as a diehard hockey fan, I know how absolutely sacred that day is. It's not like any other day. It's a day full of celebration, prestige, and pomp and circumstance--and that's when the game is in other cities. Super Bowl LVI emanated from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California; though, let's face it, it's Hollywood. It's Los Angeles. And it's home NFC franchise, the Los Angeles Rams, were playing in their home stadium against a Cincinnati Bengals team who exceeded so many expectations. Regarding myself, I'm always excited for the Super Bowl, but for this one, I was extra elated, as it featured two teams I was happy for in regards to reaching this big game.

Dear Coach, The hot and humid August morning found me pulling the black cap over the green football helmet that designated me as a third-string player. You blew the whistle that started the grind of practice to begin my first high school football season.

It's official the Cincinnati Bengals and LA Rams are going to the Super Bowl this weekend, Sunday kick off at 3:30pm PST. It has been a crazy year to say the least. The 2020-2021 NFL season was played in it's entirety, but the stands were completely empty. We finally were allowed to have stands full of fans back in attendance for the first time since the pandemic started. This season was also extended from 16 to 17 regular season games, this was done by converting one of the four preseason games into a regular season game. Covid of course was a problem all throughout the season across all 32 teams. The Football world lost John Madden, RIP. Then last but not least, the craziest news dropped only a few days ago. Tom Brady has officially retired after 22 long seasons in the NFL, honorable mention to Ben Roethlisberger's farewell tour this season. So now onto the big game.
Dyllon RodillonPublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedCAN the BENGALS mesmerize the NFL in 2022? & Rise To Greatness?
From the jump of the 21, 22 NFL season, my allegiance has remained steadfast and optimistic. I can assure you my enjoyment of being a BENGALS fan has only increased. Now we can say to all the doubters, "We in There!" The underdog in my competitive blood has been consistently rooting for the Cincinnati BENGALS, actually since midway of last season. The fact they previously finished last place in the AFC division LAST YEAR had no impression on who I'd be riding with this season. And a great season for football it has been! I admit me and the NFL fell out over that Kaepernick situation and all the confusion behind it. But as of recent years, my love for a game of excitement and the NFL has slowly but surely returned. Yes indeed, I love the action-packed, ANY GIVEN SUNDAY football season. Six months of gridiron fever. All true NFL football fanatics are glued to Sunday festivities. For example, personally, the television is broadcasting one division while another device is showing the other. The perfect solution to choosing which game to follow, dual technology.

Hard to believe that five years have passed since the biggest embarrassment in the history of the Super Bowl. On February 5, 2017, the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons faced off in Super Bowl LI, the final chapter of a very intriguing season and playoffs. The Patriots were attempting to win their fifth Super Bowl and their second in a three year span, while the Falcons were in the Super Bowl for the second time in franchise history. To the surprise (and delight) to many watching, this was all Falcons to start. It was scoreless after one quarter, but the Falcons exploded on offense; putting up three touchdowns while their defense held the Patriots to a single field goal, which came at the end of the half.
