We Need to Talk About the Pete Crow-Armstrong Situation: Part 2
In my last story, I discussed the whole Pete Crow-Armstrong situation and also addressed the toxic baseball fans who thought that acting unruly at games is acceptable behavior. As of the writing of this story, Major League Baseball fined Crow-Armstrong $5,000 for the verbal altercation with a White Sox fan last weekend. He has since issued an apology and took accountability for his poor choice of words. I didn't see PCA deflect blame towards anyone. He's one of my favorite players and I'm proud of him for using that incident as a way to learn from it and owning up to his mistake. That's called growth. When you're in your 20s, it's a decade where you're still trying to figure things out. You make mistakes but it's important to also learn from them. If you would like to read the original story discussing this topic, the link will be down below.

We Need to Talk About the Pete Crow-Armstrong Situation
My fellow baseball fans. We need to have a difficult and honest conversation about your behavior at games. I feel like some of you have refused to learn your lesson. I know that we love our teams and favorite players, but you need to be called out on your toxic demeanor towards players. Last weekend was Rivalry Weekend in Major League Baseball. One of the games was the matchup between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox. There was an incident during last weekend's contest where Pete Crow-Armstrong went off on a female White Sox fan for heckling him in a profane manner. He later apologized for the remark and mentioned that young fans looked up to him, also adding that he didn't want his recent situation to send the wrong message to those who are fans of his or kids who look up to him. I'm proud of PCA for taking accountability for his actions and recognizing his eagerness to learn from them.

Somers Defeats Fox Lane and Croton Harmon
Scroll to end for photos Somers Stays Undefeated with 5-0 Win over Croton-Harmon On Friday May 1, Somers put their undefeated record on the line at Primrose versus Croton Harmon, and the Tuskers didn't wait to get down to it. After Emily Boyle struck out the side, the bottom of the inning had the Tuskers playing their standard small and big ball game. Julia Peanamanda walked, Gianna Peanamanda moved her over with a ground out, and in the three spot, it was big business as usual.

If I Were the Commissioner of Major League Baseball....
There's no doubt that Commissioner Rob Manfred has the most rewarding, yet toughest job in Major League Baseball. No matter how you feel about him, imagine yourself in his shoes, even if it's for a day. Now if I were in charge of the league and wanted to implement and/or do away with some rules, the following are a list of items that would make the sport more enjoyable and efficient. In my personal opinion, baseball was more enjoyable in the 80s, 90s, and the 2000s. Anyway, let's get on with the list.

American League West Check-In (5/11/2026)
Greetings, baseball nerds! Every now and then, I will give everyone an update on how my team and the rest of the teams in the American League West are doing nearly two months into the 2026 Major League Baseball season. I'm only going to focus on this division and this division alone for the remainder of the season. Another weekend of baseball has come and gone. A new week has arrived, so I'll go over each team's record and also give my two cents about them.

Scroll down for baseball and crowd shots When Somers quickly fell behind Panas by two on Wednesday April 29, the back behind the eight ball feeling was familiar to Coach JT Genovese. “We started off the first half pretty rough,” he said. So the team talking out the issues, the aftermath has been unmistakable.

My Thoughts About the Firing of Rob Thomson
After a horrendous 9-19 start to the season, the Philadelphia Phillies have fired manager Rob Thomson. My question is why didn't they let him go two seasons ago? Thomson, 62, served as the Phillies manager since 2018, but now, after nine seasons as skipper, the era has finally come to an end. Alex Cora, who was recently let go by the Boston Red Sox, was offered the manager position from the Phillies, but he declined. As of this writing, the Phillies are tied with the New York Mets for last place in the National League East. The current division leader is the Atlanta Braves with an impressive record of 21-9. Three months ago, I wrote a story about FanGraphs, and we compared our own Wild Card picks, which I'll post the link down below. While I didn't have the Phillies securing a Wild Card spot or making the playoffs this year, FanGraphs had them and the Mets at a 47% chance of clinching a spot to the Postseason. As for the Braves, according to FanGraphs, had a 40% chance. So far, so good for the current NL East division leaders.

DeGaetano is too much for Brewster in 8-3 Win
Scroll to end for photos On Monday April 13 at AP Farms Field, Carys Cooper and Maria DeGaetano had a strategy coming in against Brewster. Mixing speeds and locations, said Cooper, “We were trying to get them to chase.” A donut registered in the first, a pair of walks and two hits left John Jay in a 3-0 second inning hole. So as John Jay came back, the battery mates opted instead for the shortest distance between two points.
