New Week, New Problems

As we move into week six, with the Saints and the Lions on their bye week, let's have a look at the previous week's prediction results. I'm really hoping that I did better than last time.

  • Colts @ Patriots: 3 points, as Brady became the third player in NFL history with 500 TD passes.
  • Titans @ Bills: 0 points, as the Bills win with a 46 yard FG.
  • Giants @ Panthers: 1 point, as the Panthers win with an incredible 63 yard field goal attempt to lift them over the Giants.
  • Dolphins @ Bengals: 0 points, as the Bengals scored 27 unanswered points to take the win.
  • Ravens @ Browns: 0 points, as the Browns overcame a number of questionable decisions to win in OT.
  • Packers @ Lions: 0 points, as the Lions win with the help of 4 missed field goals from the Packers.
  • Jaguars @ Chiefs: 0 points, as 5 giveaways sink the Jaguars.
  • Broncos @ Jets: 0 points, as Crowell rushes for 219 yards to lead the Jets to the win.
  • Falcons @ Steelers: 0 points, as the Steelers begin to find their rhythm.
  • Raiders @ Chargers: 1 point, as the Chargers win by 16 to continue a disappointing season for the Raiders.
  • Vikings @ Eagles: 1 point, as the Vikings took revenge for their playoff defeat.
  • Cardinals @ 49ers: 1 point, as the Cardinals took their first victory of the year.
  • Rams @ Seahawks: 1 point, as the Rams continued their perfect season.
  • Cowboys @ Texans: 0 points, as the Texans win in overtime.
  • Redskins @ Saints: 1 point, as Drew Brees became the all-time leading passer in the NFL.

So 9/45 for this week, with some wins not within the correct brackets for me this week. Let's move on to this week's fixtures, and remembering that the Saints and the Lions are the two teams not playing this week.

Eagles @ Giants

Despite the good performance by the Giants this week, I'm seeing the Eagles winning this game.

Win prediction: Eagles by 3-7 points

Buccaneers @ Falcons

With the Buccaneers now switching QBs, they could be a lot more consistent. But the Falcons can come away with a win here.

Win prediction: Falcons by 7-14 points

Steelers @ Bengals

A fierce rivalry game, with the Bengals having a good season, and the Steelers attempting to recover. Steelers to win here.

Win prediction: Steelers by 3-7 points

Chargers @ Browns

A tight fixture, happening yet again this season. Browns to win, with their pass defence proving the difference.

Win prediction: Browns by 3-7 points

Bills @ Houston

Another close game here, but it should end with the Bills coming out on top.

Win prediction: Bills by 3-7 points

Bears @ Dolphins

The Dolphins scored 17 last week, and then let in 27 unanswered. The Bears defence is unlikely to allow them the luxury of a 17 point lead.

Win prediction: Bears by 7-14 points

Cardinals @ Vikings

The Cardinals finally got their first win, but they will have to wait for the next one. They won't beat the Vikings this week.

Win prediction: Vikings by 14+ points

Colts @ Jets

A tough one to call between the two teams, but one team surely has to win. This time, I'm calling it for the Jets.

Win prediction: Jets by 3-7 points

Seahawks @ Raiders

These two teams are meeting in London this week, and it should be a win for the Seahawks. But who knows what effect the travel will have on the teams?

Win prediction: Seahawks by 7-14 points

Panthers @ Redskins

Panthers came out with a tight win last week, and they may find it quite difficult this week. Redskins to win.

Win prediction: Redskins by 3-7 points

Rams @ Broncos

The Rams' steam train will keep on rolling this week, and should take out the Broncos with relative ease.

Win prediction: Rams by 7-14 points

Jaguars @ Cowboys

The Jags have had a couple of problems, but they should sort those out by this fixture, and win comfortably.

Win prediction: Jaguars by 3-7 points

Ravens @ Titans

The Ravens were unlucky not to win the Browns matchup last week, and should bounce back with a win here against the Titans.

Win prediction: Ravens by 7-14 points

Chiefs @ Patriots

A tough one to call, with the Chiefs unbeaten so far, and the Patriots now hitting their stride. Even with recent history siding with the Chiefs, the Patriots could end their streak.

Win prediction: Patriots by 3-7 points

49ers @ Packers

The 49ers are not in for a nice rest of the season. Packers to win.

Win prediction: Packers by 7-14 points

That's all for this week.

Let's enjoy the games, and the start of the London series.
