Dodgers Add Familiar Value
This last month has been stocked with trade rumors revolving around Brian Dozier and the LA Dodgers. What will or has happened can only be determined by baseball media tweets or by official team press releases, respectively. What “would have happened” based on rumors is Dozier would be looking for an LA apartment, but what “has happened” is Logan Forsythe is a Dodger — an entirely different reality.
Vismay PandiaPublished 7 years ago in UnbalancedWhat Can Giannis Antetokounmpo Do With His Hands?
I was watching the playoff games tonight and I randomly have random thoughts sometimes. Most of them are related to music or basketball, but for some reason I wondered what Giannis Antetokounmpo could do with his inhumanely large hands. Some people have random thoughts about if the U.S. government is going to be okay for the next four years. Or they think about if there’s going to be a nuclear war anytime soon. But me? Nope, it's usually weird things about basketball unicorns or how Kendrick Lamar is actually a goat, and if goats only have a lifespan of 15–18 years, then how is Kendrick still alive at 29? Anyways, I found five different professions that Giannis Antetokounmpo would be good at with his almighty hands.
Stone StrankmanPublished 7 years ago in UnbalancedDeja Vu-ing as Only the Clippers Can
It was never supposed to happen at all. That is what’s important to remember. The Clippers were supposed to go on being the (blah) Clippers forever. Blake Griffin’s knee knew the formula and did its part. Vinny Del Negro obliged. Donald Sterling lorded slums and kept upping the racism ante.
Jared WheelerPublished 7 years ago in UnbalancedThe James Harden Bandwagon Grew After Game One
The Houston Rockets put an absolute ass-whooping on the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night, and it was some of the most fun basketball to watch. The Rockets shot 22 of 50 from deep in a playoff game, and, for added fun, it was against the Spurs who had the most efficient defense this past regular season. Houston has a great team put together for the Mike D’Antoni run and gun show, and Harden has become the captain of the ship. Just like the Suns with Steve Nash, the Rockets have figured out how to make the most three pointers in a regular season ever and do it in a seven second shot system.
Stone StrankmanPublished 7 years ago in UnbalancedHow John Wall’s Extension Could Make the Wizards a Contender in the Future
It’s easy to have major moves lost amongst the shuffle that has been the NBA offseason. If a superstar isn’t moved or bridges aren’t being set ablaze, it’s like a transaction isn’t even made. Wall’s extension to most meant he was one superstar who won’t be rumored to team up with anyone in the future.
Dan O'SheaPublished 7 years ago in UnbalancedWhere Does Pittsburgh Rank Among All-Time Teams?
For the first time in nearly two decades, the NHL has a repeat champion. Not since the 1998 Detroit Red Wings has any team lifted Lord Stanley’s Cup in back-to-back years, until now. And while the sight of Sidney Crosby and his pre-pubescent facial hair lifting the greatest trophy in sports for a third time in his career is nauseating to some, the point has to be made that this sort of thing is supposed to be damn near impossible in the salary cap era. Even with the addition of a 31st team this offseason, Pittsburgh still has the best chance to win in 2018, according to odds makers. So just how good is this team?
Kyle VandenbergPublished 7 years ago in UnbalancedPicking Apart Marc Kasowitz’s Statement
The Comey testimony was this Thursday, and while most of it was spoiled by Comey releasing his opening statement ahead of time, it was still an entertaining watch. While I don’t have exact numbers, judging from Twitter’s response, plenty of people tuned in.
John EdwardsPublished 7 years ago in UnbalancedBen Bishop Traded to LA, for Some Reason
Well, it finally happened. Though I must say, I’m surprised about the destination. Ben Bishop has been on the trading block since at least last season. His contract is set to expire this summer. He’s a good goalie, and the Lightning knew this, but they have Andrei Vasilevskiy waiting in the wings and many other expensive contracts to worry about.
