You never were a normal country

As of 2/22/22 the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases is 78,457,081 and the death toll is 934,951.

There are many Americans who are saying that they want to Covid-19 pandemic to end so they can go back to normal.

This is why I am writing this post.

My response to those of you who want to go back to normal is this:

How the hell was America as a nation ever normal?

The fault of the spread of Covid-19 was Donald Trump's failure to handle it.

There was a pandemic response team in place in case this kind of incident happened. He disbanded it because of either spite to Fmr. President Barack Obama or in his complete egotistical, arrogant self didn't believe this would happen.

It has happened. It was his fault that it happened, just as it was yours America.

You made this happen. You don't deserve normal, let alone the luxury of defining the concept of normal, because what you as a nation have defined as normal has always been controversial.

You built this nation on the genocide of one race and the slavery of another. You called that normal.

You have people working themselves into an early grave for a pittance even before the pandemic so that a few people don't have to work. Then, when those workers go on strike they are beaten up. When they are laid off, they lose their homes and economic stability. You still call that normal.

During the Second War, you had over a 100,00 people of Japanese ancestry illegally detained in internment camps. Today, you prove to be just as rotten by directing violence against Asians, because you are stupid enough to believe it was their fault for the spread of Covid-19. You are calling this normal.

African Americans like Daunte Wright are being killed and denied justice because the courts are moved by a white person's tears. When that is not the case, you are jailing African Americans for much longer sentences on petty crimes, whereas when people like Ethan Couch commit a serious crime, he gets a slap on the wrist. This is what you have called normal.

When it comes to same sex couples or non-heterosexuals, you regard them as abominations and ban them from trying to have any kind of life whatsoever. But when it comes to the ministers of your faiths or even those who call themselves Christians, they behave in those most rotten ways. From the Catholic priests molesting children to restricting access to abortions to even pushing religion into school, they prove time and again to being the opposite of what Jesus taught. You made this normal America.

You have normalized attacks on public schools. Whether it be bullying students to the point where they commit suicide, shooting the place up, denying them access to food, denying educators a decent pay or even banning books and subjects that students should be reading and learning from, you have made this normal.

When it comes to people in poverty because they had a drug/drinking problem, because they lost their jobs/homes or because they could not work because they were too old or because they have a record, you have normalized this.

Then there are people like me. A person with Asperger's syndrome, who went to college, and has still not found work worth his degree.

I never asked to be born with Asperger's, yet you as a society have chosen to make my life harder, so much so that you would mock my inability to serve in the armed forces because of my birth or being threatened by me because I am angry at certain things that happen or how you won't take me seriously because I was born with a disability, and you were not. You made this normal America and I hate you for this.

As for going to college, I didn't want to go to law school or business school because they were neither my passions nor are they careers involving people with intentions most noble. I didn't want to go to med school because it wasn't my passion, but also because of the pandemic you don't appreciate the efforts of medical professionals or even heed their advice when it comes to dealing with the pandemic. You have made this normal America.

You have made going to college a waste of time. You'll hire people for law, business, politics, medicine and even tech careers. But what about those who have no passion for such things?

I have a Bachelor's in History with a Minor in Philosophy. These two subjects, along with East Asian Cultures are my passion. I graduated from Mankato in 2017 and the only work I have found since then is as a Stocker at Target.

You want people who have careers that are marketable rather than have careers that involve what they enjoy doing. Since that's not the case, there are a lot of depressed people out there, even more so because they still have student loans to pay off, and I am one

You have made this normal America.

So, don't take me about wanting things to go back to the way they were before the pandemic, because you refused to promote change then and today even during the pandemic you as a nation and a people still refuse to promote change to the point where you would still refuse to promote change and still be the scum of the Earth that you are.

So, long story short:

GO TO HELL AND TAKE WHAT YOU CALL NORMAL WITH YOU.
