Voting Is Very Important But It's Not So Easy For Some Of Us.

It's not as easy as it seems for some people.

A lot of us take voting for granted. When we reach the age to vote there's a bit of a rite of passage when you go to the polls to vote. Still as easy as this task seems, it isn't so easy for everyone to vote. Everyone has their own situations and we can't just assume that everyone has the time to do something like this. Today we live in a time when it's increasingly difficult for some to rock the vote.

It's election season in the US and there's tons of media coverage covering the presidential election coming up. There's two main candidates Donald Trump for the Republicans and Joe Biden for the Democrats. People mainly dismiss all the other independents running for president.

More than ever are we all so divided as to who to vote for. There are groups that are pro Trump and there are groups that are pro Biden. A ton of these groups are generally voting because of their allegiances to their respective political parties.

It's a weird election because we hardly hear much about the policies that each parties are trying to use for their platform. More often we judge the candidates based on the image of the candidates which is really messed up. I remember when Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were campaigning against each other. Most of the talks in the media were based on the looks of each of the candidate and not really talking too much on the policies that each party was trying to push.

This campaign seems to be just as bad if not worse. We focus too much on the individual rather than the policies that I think many potential voters are confused as to who to vote for. All of the things we hear about these candidates are things we hear second hand from other people. We don't actually hear these things from the actual candidates.

It's scary because it's almost a herd mentality that push our votes. We know that herd mentality decisions with the Bay of Pigs and the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster. That's what I'm afraid might happen when it comes to voting.

Today there's a huge influx of promotion to have American's vote but who are they going to vote for? People need to be informed about who to vote for. What are the policies and how are these policies going to benefit them?

The people that really suffer from this situation are people of lower economic statuses. They don't have as much time to focus on the elections and policies because they're working many jobs and don't have the time to pay attention. People of lower economic status have different things to worry about that middle class America doesn't really understand.

Politicians may understand this because they don't focus on issues that help the poor. The poor don't have time to realize that they have the opportunity to band together to vote for what helps them out in the end.

Even if they are well informed of who they want to vote sometimes they have a mindset of not believing that they have the true power to make any changes. Their lives are already controlled by someone with money and they don't believe themselves to be equal so there's a sense of complacency to their attitudes with voting.

Also they live harder lives. They're more likely to have illnesses or have family members with illnesses so they might not have enough time to vote. They're working tons of different jobs to make ends meet and might not have the energy to go out to vote in the end.

This would be really difficult to remedy because you'd have to have private companies agree to allow their employees to have time off so that they can vote. Then again things today are much different now and things need to change.

Today we all have cell phones and we live in a technological age. We should all be able to vote electronically. Look at how well voting works on TV reality shows. There's a large number of people voting into these shows because of how easy it is. Some people are even willing to pay a fee to vote on these shows! That totally boggles my mind! So that's the next stage of what we have to get to.

So everyone has different circumstances and I don't think we take these into consideration when we think it's so easy for people to vote. Don't forget there's more than 300 million people in the United States and we live in a time of COVID-19. Lines are going to be long at these voting stations and we don't want to get sick in these lines. Not everyone has an hour to stand in line to vote like I mentioned before. They're already tired from work or have responsibilities at home.
