Trump has ignited the political passion in millennials...maybe he's not all bad.

Young rioters have led the most revolutionary changes...history does repeat itself

This country has always been known for its governmental particularity; a democratic nation which allows for the people to have a say on all things politics. Although it may not be exactly a direct democracy, individuals have a strong say on what the government functions are. The youth has constantly failed to participate in government...until Donny stepped in.

The Problem

Of course, for every solution, there has to be an initial problem. The United States was crafted to ensure the safety of its citizens. Yet anyone under 50 (with few exceptions) has little to no idea of what the hell is happening in the world. The youth in the USA is assumed to know little to nothing, and it turns out it used to be true. Before Trump was elected, the youth had very little to do with politics unless it had to do with voicing their parents' opinions. No one around me knew much about what was happening to the country, mostly because they did not care. Everyone constantly said that they would not vote because they relied on everyone else to be sane enough to vote for someone other than that imbecile. As we know now, they were wrong. So, our lovely president became such and did a grand job in turning this great nation into something to be ashamed of.

What changed?

I have a strong belief that Donald Trump has been such complete rubbish for this country that it made all of the youth realize they had to react. I have the benefit of living in the center of it all...I felt the revolution coming the night he got elected. All the protests filled with my classmates moved me in ways that I cannot explain. Screaming, shouting, and singing, we all came together against one evil. We have been constantly told that we are just children, thus not enough. Look at us now. Enough is enough, and even though my personal beliefs towards him are not the best, I strongly believe he has brought some good into this country. In collectively hating him and opposing his repressive decisions, we millennials stand together as a community.

Our Drive

Although the millennial community may be seen as a birth of hate, we are only composed of love and hope. Now we live in a community where many of us are exposed to countless different lifestyles. We have grown to accept each other and have slowly but surely developed a more politically correct community. Much of the youth have found themselves accepting PC ideas that seem to be mere common sense. Those around us have been able to express their emotions about ideas that were looked down upon by a few generations before us. PC culture is something that I believe drives us away from any generation before us because it has pooled many of the controversial issues of past generations into a singular controversy. We stand either on the right of most issues, fighting for individual rights, or on the more conservative side, which represses humans just because it may make someone uncomfortable. Going further into it, I believe that millennials have more respect for the individual, thus a more liberal view when it comes to basic rights. So, when we see someone repressing basic human rights just because they do not want to admit they are wrong, we get a little upset. Trump has continuously sided with repression of basic human rights...such as living. That is why we are upset. That is why we are united. That is why, today, we have hope. Hope for a better future, hope for political revolution, love for each other, and rage... for being repressed and constantly told we are not enough. Why? Because we are... we are enough.
